Hadn't been to the piston broke in a while, and should have waited even longer. Had crispy calamari, calling it crispy may be an excuse to overcook it…

Pissed and Broke Never Again!. We are students attending Wilfred Laurier and went to Piston Broke for dinner. Food was terrible. The lettuce in the chicken wrap was brown. ceasar sauce tasted like it went bad. To make things worse, a fight broke out and staff didnt even break it up. Never Again.
My girlfriend i came here for lunch on a Thursday around 12:30 and it was too busy. We ordered the specials: pulled beef wrap and turkey black bean burger. Both were very very good. My buger was seasoned nicely, moist, served with quacamole on a pretzel style bun. Fries were hot, crisp, and tossed in sea salt, coleslaw had some character too it too. Not your average pub food. A lot more thought and care goes jnto the food. Service was just fine too not like the other posts but then again it wasnt busy.
Good food. Super slow service. You will need at least 2 hours to eat lunch
Excellent food. Not sure how any body can complain about the food, I have enjoyed many meals there and never a complaint, great food with nice portions and large selection from pub food to fine dining. The staff are excellent as well, and the owners are on site daily to monitor that the service is as expected.
Wouldn’t Come Back. YUCK! I will never go back to Piston Broke ever again! The food is disguisting, the service is slow, and the restaurant itself isn’t anything glamourous. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and it took about 25 minutes for it to come. When it did come, it tasted horrible! The sauce on it was a disgusting mess, and the french fries were thick and cold. The service was slow, and there weren’t many other tables in the restaurant. I would never come back here again, and I don’t recommend it unless you are starving!
Just went there for lunch on a Saturday with a friend and it took over an hour for our lunch to be served and then it took another twenty minutes for them Tk bring the bill so it took over two hours for lunch. Not impressed at all because the other times I have been there it was great service but today was just really disappointing.
Great Food.. My girlfriend and I were visiting downtown Brantford on a Monday afternoon. So it was basically a ghost town down there. And we wanted to get something to eat. we stopped into the Piston Broke (strange name) and I had the fish and chips and she had the pub burger. The Fish and Chips were the best I’ve had in a long while and the fries were perfection. The ale batter encased the fish and they didn’t fall apart. I was so impressed. On the burger it has a bacon-relish that gives the burger a hint of bacon and a hint of relish neither overpowering but the food fills you up. It was a slow day and we were basically alone there but it was really really good food. And the late night menu was really nice. As far a gastro-pubs go. It was excellent and I’d reccomend it to anyone.
