Pseudo-Lebanese place run by Afghans in the West end.Does a good job with meat pies, cheese pies, veggie pies, zaatar pies and various combinations thereof.Atmosphere is bare-bones so stick to takeout.Cannot compare with Aladdin’s but a pretty decent place in my neighbourhood.
Horrible service and no attention to detail. It used to be pretty good, but now pies arrive barley cooked without the cheese melted. It’s gone way downhill over the last few years. It’s worth the drive to go to Aladdin to get a better pie. Like the previous poster mentioned, this place is not a place to bring your girlfriend as the employees do not know how to behave around women.
When their meat pie is fresh, the flavor just oozes out (I mean it, with every bite the meat just comes out from the sides and its perfectly juicy) It is absolutely mouth watering. Now, try the same meat pie when it isnt as busy, the meat pie is still good but a bit dryer. If I had to choose any meat pie in Ottawa, this would be my first choice. The only thing is, if you are a female expect to have some of the fellas working there take a second look at you. Kinda awkward to be in that situation but I still go back because of their pies.PROS: Juicy, Flavorful (Especially Meat & Cheese freshly made), Good Prices compared to others in the cityCONS: Washrooms could use a bit of work
Great Bakery. The cheese/meat pies here are great! Definitely a must eat. Only poor thing is the service by some people!
Great Cheap Food. Awesome food here, the cheese and vegetable is the best meal you can get for $3, and the meat pie is nicely spiced and delicious. The service is hit or miss; some of the guys are very friendly and have a great sense of humour, the others don’t acknowledge you and speak arabic the whole time.
High quality cheap food. Love this place. The food is excellent and you can stuff yourself for under $5. Lots of room to sit as well. If you like middle eastern bakeries, Al Noor is a must visit.
