Staff member hard of hearing and I had to ask for everything twice and repeat my self! I know there are many seniors coming here but come-on start some real active listening!Will not be rushing back as the waitress came me the impression there is a 20 minute dining time limit after rudely asking me how I want to pay while still enjoying my coffee and reading my paper! Geesh!The front staff also is a little slow for receipts, the cash register kind, so I may be re-reimbursed from my company!Time 10:20 am March 10th, 2016 Served by Najwa?????
Very rude manager and staff and less than mediocre service.. If you are interested in being coughed on, insulted and having them stick your fingers in your food before finally overcharging you for their mistake, please go to the Carlingwood Family restuarant.
Eggs Benedict -The Best. Sometime over a year ago I had my first eggs Benedict at the above restaurant and several since. I had never had one better – anywhere. Since then I have travelled extensively and when I have breakfast on such travels I always order eggs Benedict to see if anyone makes a better one. NO ONE HAS in other parts of Canada, U.S. or on my one and only sea cruise ship. Recently while having a mid-day breakfast at a trendy and popular cafe a short hop and a jump from Buckingham Palace I ordered eggs Benedict – eggs from organically farmed and free range chickens they were proud to say. Again eggs Benedict from Carlingwood Family Restaurant stood out as the winner.
My bf and I use to go to this restaurant a lot before it got renovated. At that time the food was good..and the service with the wait(er/ress) was excellent! They would always check up in us to see how we were doing..and if our glasses were empty they would refill it without us waiting to ask for more drinks. But this experience today! July 4,2014- it was ridiculous..the waitress we had was walking around as if she was LAZY! It took 15mins to get our drink. we got our food at a decent wait time- so no complaints there. But by that time my drink was already done. The waitress were walking back and forth our table -5x- and they saw the empty glasses! The coleslaw we had was horrible! It was soggy cabbage in vinegar -DISGUSTING!!- they didnt even come up to see if the food was good or anything even though they kept eyeing our table..by the time I was done my food I asked for more water and the waitress rolled her eyes! Wtf?! So when I paid I gave no tip cause I think she didnt deserve it..and when she saw it she just threw my receipt on the table. Never going back! Its not worth it!
Great Smoked Meat. The new dcor is a MAJOR improvement. My smoked meat and my wife’s chicken dish were both very good. In fact, most times I have visited this restaurant, no matter what I ordered was good – not fabulous just plain good. Only criticism is the overly vinegary coleslaw. Would be nice if they offered a nice creamy coleslaw.
My wife & i ace this place at least once a week for allday brkfst. Nice people, food and service
