I grew up around the corner from Bronte Fish and Chips and every Tuesday we would get their take out. To this day, we still frequent the restaurant. My parents who still live in Oakville go weekly and I go whenever I can the chance! Best fish and chips and their homemade onions rings are to die for!!! You can dine in or order take out. Staff are attentive and very pleasant, making the whole dining experience excellent. Highly recommend Bronte Fish and Chips!

2017/01/07We were on our way through Bronte at dinner time, and tonight’s choice was Fish & Chips at Bronte Fish & Chips. It is a family owned and operated restaurant that has apparently won a couple of rewards. It had been around for about 50 years, is currently owned by the family’s second generation, and run by the third generation. The decor is a bit dated, and perhaps could use a bit of freshening up, but it also has a cozy feel to it as it is. Both SWMBO and I had the Haddock & Chips ($11.95). The medium sized haddock filet had a light, crispy batter, and had a very British taste and feel to it, which is a good thing. The fries were good too. We both noticed that no coleslaw was served with the meal. Also, the tartar sauce was in little food service packages; house made would have been a nice added touch. The restaurant wasn’t very busy in the dining room, but there was a bit of steady traffic for take out orders. Our server was very good, checking in with us a couple of times along the way.

Every once in a while we get that craving for fish ‘n chips and we had heard about this restaurant through a sports team connection. We ordered way more than we should have – halibut, haddock, cod, chips, and they offered us a sample of their homemade onion rings, which we did not decline. Everything was delicious. The onion rings in particular were fantastic. Service was friendly and fast. I felt that prices were on the inexpensive side which made it a great value. I will definitely return.

The staff and service here is impeccable. The food is not.
