Slow and not worth the wait.. The wife and I stopped in for a much anticipated brunch. We sat on the patio and waited for our food. After an hour and half told the manager to cancel our order and we’d go some place else. They quickly threw together something and comped our meal. I don’t think we will be back and it’s a shame as we live in town

Mixed review. Went to 1847 for the first time with some guests from out of town last night, very nice ambiance, and they were accommodating as we had 3 children in our party and had a stroller to deal with. We had 3 appetizers, all were very good but a bit pricey, lots of selection for drinks, we had nice martinis and wine. Everyone enjoyed their entree except my wife who said the pork chops was terrible, to their credit they did remove it from the bill. The biggest issue we had was the extremely slow service, there was only one person taking orders, bringing food and cashing guests out, it took almost 15 minutes for us just to order and then another 15 minutes just get our first drink, every time we ordered another drink it was the same story. Overall the food is good, but when your dropping almost $300 for 4 adults to have dinner and drinks it’s not acceptable to wait that long for food and drinks. We will not go back and it’s a shame because if they just had more staff to attend to the clientele this experience would have been much better and we would be return customers.

A big let down. I was fascinated by the craft beer selection and the menu seemed good. We made a reservation for 6pm on a Friday night and were greeted by a nice young lady who sat us near the kitchen. Interesting remodeling of an old bank in downtown Brooklin. we ordered a couple of appetizers, Cheese board flights and Thai Curry mussels. The mussels were sitting ontop of limited amount of liquid that gave them hardly any flavour and the meat that was present was of lower grade, very small with respect to the price. The cheeseboard was also limited with a few cheeses, a few grapes, and 4 thin slices toasted breads. The onion jam was good, however the cost of $18 it was not worth it. For $16 I could have had the cheese and meat board at The Tap and Tankard with greater quantity of items. The service was very slow and not attentive. This will not be a return visit for us.

Unexpected pleasure. My husband and I unexpectedly and unplanned popped in for dinner on a Friday night and were able to be seated on the back deck. There was a great Blues & Jazz trio performing, the food was very good, the wine was good. We were pleasantly surprised, though we felt perhaps a bit underdressed as we were casually dressed. We are definitely returning again, hoping to get a night with live music on the deck again, ambience mixed with great fresh food make it a gem.

New Menu! :). Oh wow the new menu is incredible! As always you’ve outdone yourselves guys, great job! The Thai chicken has changed the way I think about curry, it was so savory and refreshing. We’ll definitely be returning customers! 🙂

Really nice to look forward to brunch at the bistro with my church family every Sunday after the service. We find it very welcoming and the coffees are hot and full and are our plates. Our table grows every week.

My new favorite social spot. Had so much fun at a birthday party. Went with a group of girls. Had the vegetable wellington, toasty filo pastry with roasted root vegetables snuggled inside. Had a blood orange cocktail to start that was tart and sweet, nice wines and friendly service. Will definitely recommend and go back again.
