Not good service. Stopped for lunch. We were told a 20 minute backlog for food. Waited 45 minutes after ordering. I had bacon & eggs. Eggs were not cooked properly, bacon was cold. Hubby had Shrimp Risotto. It had 5 shrimp in it. Will not go back
Complete incompetence. My husband & I went to Lowville Bistro for brunch on a Sunday. We had not made a reservation but there was plenty of seating available (1 party inside; 4 couples & a large family party outside). The waitress took drink order after intentionally ignoring us for 20 minutes. When the drinks arrived ten minutes later (2 orange juice), we ordered our food. The family party was informed that there were only 2 people in the kitchen and there would be a delay in food service; our waitress informed guests at other tables of the delay while ignoring us completely. Two rounds of orange juice later, we still had not received our food (eggs benedict and a toasted western). I noticed a couple who came in 20 minutes after us were served ahead of us. At that point, I requested our bill. We had been waiting 1 1/2 hrs from the time of arrival. The waitress took another 10 minutes to get our bill. Could not help but notice that many guests did not finish their entrees and were less than enthusiastic about the quality of the food.We arrived at just after 12 and ended up having lunch at Tim Hortons in Burlington at 2:15 (5 minutes to prepare our food). 2 people should be able to handle a kitchen if the prep work has been done. If you cannot handle a simple lunch service, why are you opening at all? Lowville Bistro is an overpriced mousetrap. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Everyone at our table of 4 enjoyed all 3 dinner courses, the service and the atmosphere. We are looking forward to returning on a Sunday for the live jazz.
Went there for Sunday night dinner and live jazz. The food was excellent as was our server. The negative reviews make me think someone is trying to give this place a bad name. And Lowville is a great spot to visit. Check out the interactive art park down the street. Very cool!
