I belong to a dining group and a few people recommended this place. We tried it on a midweek for lunch on their small patio. There were 6 of us and we all ordered bento boxes. They came done up with such artistic flair. The people who had the sashimi reported the pieces were quite large and scrumptious . I had teriyaki and tempura. wow! The lightness of the batter was the best i have ever had. The flavour and tenderness of the teriyaki beef was excellent. Another woman who had the eel commented it was fantastic. Went with my family over Christmas. Although an overall positive experience there wee a few things that were not top of the line. The Udon noodles were too sweet I liked the sea bass steak but I wish I had ordered tempura and teriyaki like last time.
Disappointing food at very pretentiously named restaurant. The salad, sauces ( even table teriyaki), rice, steak ( pieces of warmed up cheap meat) sushi are tasted like in food court ( good sushi restaurants are scarce in Toronto area) . Defensively overpriced. The place was kind of dump. Looked like that all food was taken out of fridge right before serving. At least rice has to be cooked professionally. The owner probably is lack of funds to buy higher quality ingredients and hire a better chef.Service was good though.
Mikado definitely offers a unique take on sushi especially with their specialty rolls. My favourites are the Hawaiian, Treasure Island, and Blue Mountain rolls! When I’m craving for sushi I now always make the drive from Hamilton Mountain to Burlington to eat at Mikado, despite the numerous number of sushi restaurants Hamilton has to offer. The AYCE is well worth your time and money!Thank you Mikado for the wonderful food and experience.
I had the sashimi dinner here a number of times and it has always been good. Interesting non-traditional presentation for sashimi each time, a lot of effort put into each dish. The service was friendly and efficient each time I was there. I will visit here whenever I am in Burlington.
Amazing Sushi!. This place is really good! We just happened to come across this place on our travels and decided to stop in. It is near the lake which makes it really beautiful. The decor of the restaurant is really nice! They have tons of decorative sun umbrellas on the walls, and the photos on the wall are really unique. They had tons of Japanese and Korean dishes, my friend was very happy that she was able to have the dishes that she missed from Korea. The Philadelphia Roll is to die for! Very tasty! I would definitely return to this place, and would recommend you try it!
First time eating there and was pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious and the staff was extremely nice (especially the owners) – it’s a little pricey but worth a visit.
Great service, fresh fish!. Great place for sushi and sashimi. Service from owners is amazing. Food is great, flavorful and fresh! – Try the shrimp tempura… best ever! actually has shrimp juice/taste!
