Before coming to this restaurant, I had high expectations because the restaurant’s decoration is awesome and they have pretty funky music going on. It took almost AN HOUR for three small pizzas, so I was already a bit impatient. The pizza gets here and I fricken hope it’s good because I waited so long. Aaaand it’s burned, overcooked, and it’s completely tasteless and bland. The service is great though, the waitress realized our pizza was burned so she took it all off our bill. Kinda nice, I guess. Not worth the wait and money.
First time visiting. It’s hard to find tables for parties more than two, and still sometimes it’s hard to get a table. Reservations are not taken unless it’s a group more than 8 people. Food: we ordered the jalapeo dip with bread sticks as a starter. It had a nice kick to it. Then we ordered the wild mushroom pizza. The cost was 23$ for a small pizza which was a good size for 2-3 people. The flavour was alright – it was a bit too salty and the sauce was a bit too thin so it was really watery. The pizza had to be eaten with a knife and fork so I wasn’t too happy about that! The leftover slice we had the next day actually tasted a lot better after it was warmed up in the toaster oven. The score is primarily based on the food. The service was okay, not exceptional or great.
I 1st visit-I went here last night with y dining group. I had heard good things and decided to give it a whirl.Atmosphere- When you walk n you feel immediately comfortable. .the bright blue walls and counters resemble more of a coffee shop than a pizzeria. The second room we entered has the most unique puffs of feathers for lights. The walls are lined with Andy Warhol Marilyn’s. The whole room looks like it is something in a dream.Food- 1) Caesar salad- Very lemony. A little too lemony. The one thing that was fantastic in it was the candied smoked on site bacon. Wow! I would come here for just that! Most of us ordered the pizza. We agreed that the thin crust had a fantastic flavour. One of our diners had a pizza that was obviously burned. They easily replaced the pizza which is a good trait and the chef came out and apologized. Our Pizzas included- 2) Meatza- Excellent with a load of flavour 3) Hawaiian- pineapple, that fantastic bacon, and ham with cheese- really nice combination. 4) Mushroom- wonderful 5) Proscuito and fig- I really liked this one. I asked for extra cheese, was told there was extra cheese, however, it did not lok or taste like there was extra cheese. I wish it had had extra cheese. There were also a few people who ordered the burger 6) Burger with double patties and 2 strips of that candied smoked bacon ( love it!) This came with taro chips ( salt and way too much vinegar) The burger reviews were excellent . if the taro chips had been flavoured with anything else i think more would have liked them.Service- We had one waitress for 19 people. she was exceptional. I think her name was Wendy ( That may be wrong) She was extremely attentive for someone with such a large group. Our dishes came out in shifts but for a small restaurant with a big group this is expected. When the pizzas came out they were hot and delicious. After dinner we brought in a cake. Our waitress not only brought plates for us she served the cake! Thanks so much. She helped make our experience wonderful.I have been back a few times and I love the atmosphere. The pizzas however have been burned more times than not. I mean black bottom. They should learn how to cook an oven pizza without burning them. It could be fabulous. I don’t mind paying more if it is worth it but burned pizza is not what I like paying extra for. Too bad bc the experience us being cancelled by burned food. Never serve burned food for tip dollar.
Great food, terrible business practices. Have been here many times and brought several groups of friends and colleagues to share a meal and enjoy the delicious food. We are locals from the neighbourhood. Tonight, now for the fourth time in the past two months, I have been turned away or found the restaurant closed to the public on a weekend night. Tonight I came to order a take away pizza and salad and was turned away at the door because the kitchen was ‘too busy’. This is a common occurrence at Son of a Peach. This is absurd for a pizza place and if they hope for a long lived presence in Burlington then they need to stop turning business away. I am currently picking up my dinner at Valentino’s where, despite a full house, they had no problem cooking for me. Step it up Son of a Peach!
Awesome place! We will definitely be back. Thin crust pizza is fabulous with premium toppings. We wish the tomato sauce would be a bit more fancy and not a plain Jane sauce, but all in all, definitely coming back soon to try other flavours of pizza.
Pizza in the village. We noticed this new restaurant downtown in the village.. and were lured in by the funky original decor and super friendly staff! Checked out the menu briefly and ended up staying and finishing a delicious spicy salami and wild honey Pizza and great local ale. We loved the old-school decor with a modern-twist; so original compared to all other Italian restaurants. Great thin crust pizza.. just how it’s supposed to be cooked, with fresh ingredients. Will definitely visit again.. next on the list to try – garlic dough knots and freshly cooked burgers!
BESTEST OF THE BEST PIZZA EVER!. OK so everything here that we tried when we were there was just damn good. Pizza: salami & wild honey, wild mushroom, peach & fig, bbq pork & peach. There was 5 of us and we wanted a variety of pizzas to try and none of them failed us. They were all equally delicious scrumpty-da-lumpscious!Salad: Caesar. Amazing bacon, grilled lemon, fresh parm. Hello?Small bites: Sriracha honey wings. DAMN good! All beers on tap are local! Sparkling wine on tap! Best servers, best service, and just the best all around! I’m definitely coming back and bringing my ginormous appetite with me!!YES!!!!
