Five stars for their hong kong style french toast. One star for everything else. This place makes the absolute BEST HK style french toast EVER! They take thick cut bread (that’s different in texture and is a bit eggier than most other chinese cafes), cut it into large cubes, and then deep fry the cubes. Most other places just fry the whole pieces of toast. Also, instead of putting peanut butter in between layers of bread, they warm it and save it on the side as a dip but you have to order it (it’s an extra 50 cents). Also, they serve it with melted butter on the side and a drizzle of sweetened condensed milk. I love that their french toast isn’t too sweet. This place has a large menu with many different options – some unique. They also have surprisingly expensive menu items and set dinners as well. I haven’t tried too many items off their menu, but everything I’ve tried and everything my friends have tried have been surprisingly poorly executed. Even the drinks were poorly made. They used red beans that felt and tasted completely raw (hard and inedible). cookingwithalison.com
