Really enjoyed the cafe. The pastry chef was free and took her time to explain the menu thoroughly. Every dessert is made in house and we really enjoyed it. I ordered the lava matcha cake. It was very light and the creamy matcha lava was quite nice. Husband ordered the white sesame creme brulee and enjoyed it too. Now need to try the rest of the menu.
I had the vanilla souffle and matcha lava cake. For the souffle, there is a 40 min wait time. It came with a syrup of choice. We had guava but I preferred the souffle on its own. It was nice and light. The matcha lava cake took quite a while to arrive. There was a little bit of red bean with it and it came with a lime sorbet ice cream scoop. Overall, the desserts are okay but make sure you aren’t in a rush to go to another place.
Managed to go at a time where it was slow. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean. Free lollipops were at each table. The menu selection seemed a bit small. The matcha lava cake was well made and a good level of sweetness, mixed with a bit of red bean. The choice of sorbet included was interesting. Apparently the flavor for the sorbet changes daily. Overall it was pretty good but on the pricier side.
I like this place. It’s located in the commerce gate plaza at hwy 7 and commerce valley drive west. There’s a lot of restaurants there.Parking can be crazy if you get there after 7 at night, or lunch time everyday. There’s a very large parking lot but it fills up fast. Some people don’t realize, but there’s also underground parking.Note: sometimes the underground parking fills up. Get someone to drive you and drop you off. :)When you can get a macaroon grab it!! There are many different flavours, they rotate though. If you don’t see your favourite, ask it might be coming up in a few minutes or come back, it’ll be there another day. They are large and sweet. Honestly some of the best macaroons I’ve ever had. My favourites are hazelnut, rosewater, and any of the citrus. They also have macha and earl grey. I bring them to a lot of events. They helped me get a VIP card.Note: ask for the loyalty cards. Fill 5, get a VIP card.@When I’m there with friends after dinner, I like to get the pear tea and hazelnut cupcake! They come in vanilla or chocolate cake! So cute. The tea comes with a little timer so you know when to start drinking it.They are ‘known’ for their souffl or baked Alaska. I find them to be just meh. My friends go nuts over them! It also takes 30- 45 minutes to get it, not worth it to me, but I’m impatient. But thumbs up for the macaroons and cupcakes.I love this place, people that work here are nice and will answer any questions you might have.Come and enjoy yourself! whatlynnate.wordpress.com
Cozy place. All deserts are perfectly made. Only problem is every order are custom made, long wait when busy. We had to wait over an hour.
