The Prix Fixe lunch included soup or salad, a choice of a main (priced at $12, $18, and $24) and coffee or tea with an oatmeal cookie. We all got the soup of the day which was French onion soupnot very Espaol to me, but we wanted to give it a try. All we can say is that DD#1 makes a better French onion soup than what we were served. It was not bad but not great either. It was actually hovering on the sweet side.DD#1 got Garlic Mussels cooked in white wine, butter and garlic. It was a good serving (not appetizer size!) and came with toasted bread. We all liked it and DD#1 especially enjoyed her food. The mussels were cooked nicely and were very flavourful. No need to fear, the washrooms had mouthwash to get rid of garlicky breaths!Hubby got the Lamb chops. The herb crusted lamb was nicely done, seared just perfectly. However, it was served with polenta, which is traditionally Italian, so I was not too convinced this dish or that pairing belonged in this place.Grandma had the Squid Ink seafood pasta with squid, bay scallops and shrimp. I had a small bite and the flavours were good. The girls liked it as well. Again, I would normally associate pasta with Italian cuisine but as it is not altogether absent in Spanish cuisine, I will just take it as it is. A Paella Negra would have been more appropriate, I think.I shared a Seafood Paella with DD#2 (as we had a heavy mid-morning snack that day). The paella was okay. It had a good amount of shrimp, squid and mussels. While the socarrat (crisp, browned rice) was not at the bottom, it was present, mixed into the rice. In our travels in Spain, though, I have never had Paella served with corn kernels. I also never include it in Paella I make at home. So, I didnt really appreciate having corn in their Paella. It made me think that they could only find bags of frozen corn and peas at the grocery instead of only frozen peas. Nonetheless it was flavourful. All in all, ambiance and service was good but food was just ok. wanderlustingmama.blogspot.com

I’ve been here a couple of times. I really want to like this place and have given it a few chances and am stopping. I’m going to write about my last visit. That was the best one. In a food plaza in Markham. Close to the 404 and highway 7It’s at the front of the plaza. Finding parking close to the restaurant can be really tricky. There’s a tonne of parking being. Like more parking than you will ever need. This place is really nice. You can tell they cared about what it looks like. It looks like it was plucked from Yorkville and place in Thornhill. Gorgeous tiles, wood, open ceiling, large bar, great lighting. Nice!If only the love extended to the food. Honestly this place is hit and miss with mostly misses. So we got the bone marrow. $18 for a whole bone cut in half two sections and 6 tiny pieces of bread. Ok. This makes me mad. The damn hipsters. Bones are the scraps they sell for next to nothing and because it’s ‘cool’ to eat auful we now have to pay freaking 18 bucks for a pathetic plate of scrap. The waitress suggested the calamari when we discovered the pork belly was out. It was a hit. Yum. Worth the getOk. Octopus leg. What a compete gong show. I’m still angry. 15 bucks. For. Practically.Nothing. The ‘leg’ was 9 pieces of leg sitting on a piece of paper thin potato. In a sauce, can’t forget that. I think it was at some point frozen, can’t explain the texture. Either quick cook kinda chewy or long cook tender is what I normally have eaten. This was chewy and mushy. Mushy usually indicated frozen. UggCauliflower and kale salad. This was a home run. Foie gras. Ok. 10 bucks for two pieces of spread shmeared with ground, not whole , foie. It had a mango thing on the top that was great. Also over powering. The whole bite tasted of mango, which was great because the foie spread was nothing to write home about. How do you ruin that? The bread it came on was lovelyMeatball _ tasted good. I noticed we had 5 of them and then saw later that the table next to ours only got 4. Striploin steak. Again. Disappointed. So tiny and tough and was sliced wrong which made it even tougher to chew. Thanks guysPaella. We got the tapagria paella. ( Friends wanted) The server asks you right away if you want it because it takes 45 to make. I’ve read in past reviews about how this was disappointing. I liked it. If we could get it like that again I would. The spice was amazing. Spanish toast.- server suggestion. It took over 30 minutes to get. I’m not sure why. It’s a piece of mushy bread topped with a brule topping, caramel and whipped cream. Disappointing small. 10 bucks for a piece of bread. Of course it was delicious. Cover anything sweet with caramel and sugar and heck yeah. But 10 dollars? Not even close to worth it especially because of the wait. I rarely mention cost. I think you pay what you get for. I can’t believe I’m complaining about it but yeah, it made me angry. One server with someone she was training tagging along. Obviously someone who has never worked in the service industry before. The main server was someone this establishment should never fire, in fact give her a raise. They can’t afford for her to leave. This woman hustled to get people to buy more. She did a great job. She’s a bit older than most that I have seen there and experience is a virtue. But man it was slow getting food. We were there from 5 to 8:30. There was also a guy there but apparently he was bar only, so he basically just poured wine from the bottle that the one table ordered. Hey, don’t help out anywhere else..In case you didn’t get it. I’m never going back. Can’t and won’t recommend it whatlynnate.wordpress.com

The food here is handled with great care and love. It’s not cheap by any means, but the ambiance is cheerful and fun while the servers are kind and knowledgeable.I’d recommend dishes like their Grilled Calamari (juicy and succulent, not chewy or rubbery at all! Perfect smokiness from the char and robust squid flavour too), jamon de iberico (ask the server about the difference, it’s fun), pork chop, jamon-wrapped stuffed dates (made in house every day!), their buttery bone marrow, and the Spanish toast (One of the best desserts I’ve had in recent memory!).Their drinks are quite good too. They have a fairly extensive menu with a bunch of different types of Sangrias along with their own touches on old favourites like the Gin & Tonic as well as the Old Fashioned.

Nice decor. The small tapas selection was tasty. The paella wasn’t flavourful enough. Overall the restaurant is a bit pricey for the quality.

I came here in hopes of really liking it as its the first tapas resto in the area but the food was so terrible that we got undercooked bloody chicken in the paella and the potatas bravas was just raw potatoes. I will never come back to this place if my life depended on it. Do ur self a favor and dont come here u might as well just stay home and eat mcds and i gaurentee u a better meal.If i could rate this place less than a Zero then i would

First time at this Spanish Tapas restaurant in Richmond Hill. Love the space as its nice and spacious. Nice interior decorating and they have 2 big private rooms.Selection of Tapas is small. Everything was delicious. One of my faves was the Fois Gras Pate and Angus Tartare. The paella was disappointing…it was too bland for me. The Spanish Toast was amazing. However, the churros was not good. We enjoyed the Guava raspberry sangria!! Overall we had a great time. The server was friendly and nice but it was hard to get their attention at times.
