The food is good. They have the best pizza in Carleton Place. Good basic breakfast. It’s nothing to look at, the interior is about the same, and it’s a bit of a dive – expect diner or truck stop level food. For what it is, it’s great.
So I came with my family tonight! Left 10 minutes later…have been coming here since I was a kid but since I don’t live here anymore I’m not a regular anymore and it shows…2 ladies walk in after us and get immediately served while we sit there waiting ….what’s happened Mike, Sally and Salim????
Not great.. If I could go back in time and have chosen any other restaurant to eat at, I would. The caesar salad was drenched in nearly half a bottle of dressing, the fish in our fish and chips was from frozen and heavily battered on the outside, and the french onion soup was so salty we couldn’t finish the broth. Even the fries were like eating fried styrofoam, let alone the rice pudding which was so bland and lumpy you’d expect better in prison. We were starving and had heard good things, but we were sorely disappointed and will not be returning. The service was fine, the atmosphere was fine, but the food was not what we’re used to.
The place is very clean. Very good food. Very good service.. The hot chicken sandwich. So tasty just really yummy.
HUGE PORTIONS. First time ever to the Gourmet. Portions massive and well done. Not gourmet food but very well done. The side caesar feeds 6 people. The cheese burger is the size of 2 burgers and very tasty. My husband had the steak on a bun. HUGE!!! The French Onion Soup is great loaded with cheese. I would go again for sure.
Good. Not amazing but good and for the price cannot complaint except for one thing. THE SALAD. Come on guys, iceberg lettuce? am I supposed ot feel full after eating such stupid salad? SO disappointing.use real lettuce, leafy greens, SPINACH. How freaking hard. Seems to be a theme in CP and Almonte. Cant get a decent side Anyways good if youa re not dieting. Pancake are super yummy
If you don’t expect too much, you won’t be disappointed!. We were visiting friends in Carleton Place a couple of weeks ago and found this place on the Internet. Don’t be fooled by using Google Maps to locate it because their address is a P.O. BOX. It’s located right on Hwy 7 at Hwy 15. Decor is a little tired but the breakfast was OK and service was friendly! justrw.net
