I have never had bad food before, no matter how busy it is the service is never slow. I love it, their fries are some of my favourite! Be polite, guaranteed your waiter/waitress will be an angel. Great place, good atmosphere, good food, not to pricey.
The beverage came first. It was intended to be ginger ale although it appeared to be clear soda water (not flat) with a hand-full white sugar thrown in. Unfortunately I ordered the Chicken Parmesan. The edge of the chicken was uncut-able as if it had been microwaved at some setting close to the temperature of the interior of a star. My wife pushed her fork into the center of the chicken but she had to hold the chicken down with considerable force to extract it. The accompanying spaghetti was nicely cooked but the sauce on top was chili sauce. I counted the kidney beans. There were twelve. Even the garlic bread had a taste reminiscent of spent jet fuel. Now the waitress was very attentive and this culinary delight was not at all her fault. I suggest a screening program or perhaps the cook forgot to take his ADD medication.
I think this is a good restaurant! I’ve been a few times when visiting Carleton Place. I’ve had pasta, which was good. I also tasted some fries which had a nice seasoning. I have to mention that the Coconut pie is out of this world. So creamy and fluffy, I crave it all the time!
I have always enjoyed it. I enjoy going to the Thruway. I always get steak or spinach dip and love them both. I am also lucky enough to always get Paul as a server and he is awesome, I hope the owners know how lucky they are to have such an asset to their team.
The most horrible French Onion soup I have ever had. Why even bother! It was like soup from a packet (you know with the tiny little bits of onion). Will never go again
Wow, horrible place. The food itself is alright and compare to some places in CP, its fine so I’ve been there a couple time. Every time I go, something goes wrong but it is never big enough to make me not go again if a friend wants to.The food is okay not a good okay but you know just okay. I mean they still put parsley on the plate like this was the 80s, they don’t seem to understand a Reuben Sandwich doesn’t have mustard but thousand island dressing. When you order pasta its ALWAYS over cooked. Fries are just okay and the only thing good on the menu is their breakfast if you like grease.Yet all this never stopped me from going until last sunday. The service I have received was beyond disgusting. I was treated like I was unwanted and that is unforgivable. It started off with our waitress not coming to the table for drinks for 15 minutes. I get it, it’s not the end of the world but it surely is not good service. nonetheless, she some what apologized in a nonchalant tone which could have been mean in a different way so I let it go.I ordered a water and my friends got cokes. She came with the cokes but my water was nowhere to be found. When I enquired about it she proceeded to explain she is busy and its coming. Well okay miss B but you could have brought it on your tray with the coke or do you have to walk to a well to go get it?after asking her 3 times in a spend of 20 minutes, I finally got my water with our orders.when we ordered our food, my bf ordered the chicken fingers and asked them to be tossed in honey garlic. Now I knew they did that because the night before I was there with a friend who had ordered the exact same thing. when the plate got there, the sauce was on the side. a little tiny container and she said the cook refused to do it. We didn’t argue and I looked at my plate which was smoked meat sandwich. to my horror, the cook used the end of the bread. not only my sandwich was half the side it was supposed to be but they put less meat in it too!!! I was so mad but again didn’t say anything because hey its not the waitress’ fault and I am not about to return a plate so they can spit in it.When we got our bills I noticed they surcharge my bf for the sauce when the night before they didn’t to my friend because they explained she didn’t get the plum sauce. When I asked the waitress she told me its more expensive and after arguying she finally went in the back talk to someone, who knows who and came back telling me I have to pay. I explained to her he didn’t get the plum sauce so now they took something away from him without even telling us. no where on the menu it states this surcharge. To me that’s a SCAM and even if its only $1, its about principle. If youa re going to charge someone something, make damn sure you tell them about it when they order it which she fail to do. ITS A FREAKING DOLLAR, if you cared about your customers you would have removed it from my bill but instead decided to make me feel unwelcomed and truthfully made an enemy of me, a regular customer. At that point I am sure everyone can understand not only I felt unwelcomed in their poorly decorated restaurant but I felt insulted to be treated like a dog. So after her bitchyness tha ti have to pay my $50 bill for a meal less than par, I didn’t leave any tip and truly hope this waitress quits or gets fired because she is the worst one I have ever met.And to the owner of the restaurant: If this is how you treat a regular customer, its beyond me how you can still be in business. Probably because you are on the highway and fools trucker and tourist stop at this overpriced restaurant. $15 for pastas that are overcooked is disgusting, service is horrible and lets be honest, my experience sunday left me with a nasty after taste. That dollar was the nail in your coffin as far as im concerned. I will never ever set foot there again and will tell everyone to not go there.
