2017/07/13Another day, another day trip, another restaurant. This time it was lunch at the Elora Brewing Company. It’s one of those restaurants that appears small on the outside, but is pretty big on the inside. The main dining room takes up about half the main floor, and there is a mezzanine level with a second dining room. In the back are the brewing facilities. We started out with a stein of their Three Fields Lager, which was light and refreshing. SWMBO chose the Fish and Chips (4 oz piece of Lake Erie Whitefish), Three Fields lager batter, coleslaw, frites, house-made tartar sauce , house-made ketchup). It was cooked with the skin on, which she did not like, since it was soft and fatty. Once she removed the skin, the fish and batter were fine. I had the EBC Burger (farm-direct beef and pork patty, tomato, romaine, lettuce, brioche bun). Juicy burger, soft, fresh bun, fresh toppings. Worked for me. The fries were julienne-cut, with just a little bit of crispness on the outside. I prefer my fries a little crispier, but they were still pretty good. Service was pleasant and polite.
