Allan Gancenas farm to table fusion is a must-try treat in the heart of Fergus. His welcoming hospitality and passion for flavour shine in the intimate establishment. Though closed for Chinese New Year, my group was fortunate enough to receive an invitation to join Allan for a home cooked meal. Allan did not disappoint! We were pleasantly surprised with a full spread of Asian fusion, including bitter melon stuffed with minced pork, melt in your mouth chicken thighs, beef tenderloin cooked to perfection, and homemade soup.I highly recommend My Kitchen by Gancena not only for its amazing food, but for the welcoming atmosphere that Allan works hard to provide for his guests.

The Elmira tomato salad was delicious I woke up this morning thinking about that beautiful dressing. Next the ribeye steak cooked to perfection and full of flavour with a green peppercorn sauce that made you want to lick the plate. Dessert was seasonal ruhbarbstrawberry compote with homemade ice cream . My mouth is watering as a write this. I will be back Thursday date night?……. Let me text my fellow foodie of 41 years and see if he is free. Thanks to Jonathan and Amy for introducing me to this excellent dining experience .

Farm to table goodness. Gancena offers a set 4 course dinner which was reasonably portioned and delicious. As my date could not eat the pork in the main dish he was able to substitute a nice wild salmon entree which she loved. The decor leaves much to be desired but was compensated for by the delicious food and personalized service.
My Kitchen first visit. Four coarse meal. wonderfully prepared fresh tasting very nice presentation and perfect portion sizes. chef and owner Alan was marvelous. a gracious host and always had time to answer questions re ingredients etc. well be back for sure.
