2016/08/13We met a couple of friends In Fergus at the Fergusson Room in the Breadalbane Inn for lunch on a Saturday. It happened to be the same weekend as the Highland Games, but we were there early enough, before the place filled up. The restaurant has a great rustic feel to it, with all the natural wood ceiling beams, tables and seats. The menu is mainly pub food, with a nice selection of burgers. SWMBO had the HOWF Burger (white cheddar, smokey bacon), and I had the Monaghan Mushroom Burger (wild and tame mushrooms, caramelized onions, aged gruyere). The burger patties were charred on the outside, giving each bite a little crunch. Both of us enjoyed our burgers. This meal was more about conversation with friends, rather than the food.

I was here with two friends. We just wanted a nice place for a short break from wandering around the pretty town of Fergus and we found it. We had a brushetta pizza washed down with beers and wine. The pizza was good and I would order it again. I will return if I am in town again.
They’ve really added some delicious things to the menu, the wait is short for your food most nights and even when it is busy they send the whole tables food without missing things (I’m happy to wait as long as the food is hot and right!). We’ll be returning!
Our horrible experience. We are regulars at the Fergusson Room; we enjoy our visits every two weeks, and have always had great food and service. However, a new chief has come in changed the menu to look like something out of sesame street compromising the ingregity of great food whilst reaching out to the importance of using local grown foods. Its there in the menu you just have to find it. At first burgers came in a cheap basket with wax paper that did not hold up to the moisture, its back to plates. However, our worst night was December 29, 2012 We waited well OVER 30 minutes for Pub food nothing beyond the ordinary ordered, without an apology we were told it is common to wait for 30 minutes for our food. WE WERE NEVER EVER TOLD THAT BEFORE EVER!!!!! Now the burgers were good the pulled pork came half cold (fridge cold) and again without an apology handed a bill. Not Impressed and will never recommend this pub again, we were told by other regular patrons to not re-visit the new changes they were right! Will use up my points and find a new hang out.
Authentic British Pub Atmosphere. We were there before the theatre for a quick meal. The atmosphere reminded us of British Pubs we have visited. Service was excellent. The menu had a wide variety of choices, from excellent salads to familiar pub fare. My tomato & steak salad hit the mark perfectly. My partner had the liver & onions & said it was excellent. Prices were good. We look forward to returning!
