A solid place to eat and have a good time with friends. The countless times I’ve been to Stuttering John’s I am yet to have a bad experience. The atmosphere of the place is nice and cozy, the staff there are super friendly and always have a smile on their faces. The food has never disappointed me, the lack of choices for beer is a bit of a downside though. Their takeout is good too, would recommend to give this place to anyone wants a heavy meal!
This place is Amazing. dinner with friends last night and everyone loved it. Everything homemade and HUGE portions. We will be back to this Courtice gem.
Great place to eat. I have been there two times. Can’t wait to go again. The owner is so nice and the servers are so sweet. Food is amazing. I will be a regular
STAY AWAY. Dec 30 2014 6:15 Slow service…..under cooked food! After 60 minutes we finally got our food…potatoe bombs where raw and had a pinch of chesse and more sour cream than potatoe. Wings where room temp at best not sure when 6 wings became a pound! Owner was very rude but did clear our bill, not impressed at all and it is too bad as it is very close to our home….walking distance! Waitress (owners daughter) was the only plesant part of our experience.
Pretty good. The service was good and friendly. We ordered 3 steaks and all of them came out too rare. Just a friendly recipe forthwith cooks :). Decently priced as well. Just need shape up in the kitchen. This is just based on one time as well.
Expect exceptional BBQ, don’t expect exceptional service. We dropped by on Saturday, Nov 22 in the evening. Service was incredibly slow and the place was busy. Busy is a good sign. Slow service is not. Our waitress was inexperienced and it showed by how she got our daughter’s order wrong and couldn’t answer questions we had about the menu. When we asked how much the tomato soup was, she told us the restaurant doesn’t sell soup despite it being written on the specials board behind her. Whoops. We only stayed because we heard good things on Facebook about the food. It took 51 minutes from the time we arrived to the time we ate. Drinks were never refilled despite asking – twice – for another beverage. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my husband had the beef brisket and poutine. The poutine was delicious – best I’d ever had with great smoke flavour in the gravy. The pulled pork was just as delicious as the kind I’ve tried at various rib fests and might I say, actually better! My husband said his brisket was amazing. I think with some better training, hiring more servers, the place can really pull it together. Just don’t show up starving.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. All the food was excellent especially the chip truck fries, ribs, and roasted squash salad! Can’t wait to come back and try more!
