If you are looking for a hidden gem, Ambience of India is the place. A quiet place, serving delicious Indian meals. The Naans were fresh and tasty, as were the beautifully plated meals.
Great service, great food at reasonable prices!. I have gone to Ambiance of India many times over the past two years. Often I go for the luch buffet. The food is always very good, fresh, with quality ingredients. With regard to the dinner menu, I find the prices reasonable, with excellent portions and delicious. My husband and I have different favourites, but we agree on one thing – it’s all very good.
This place has the BEST and most AUTHENTIC indian food in Mississauga. I’ve gone to this restaurant 4 times now for lunch, and each and everytime the food is amazing – hot, flavourful, fresh – and continually replenished. I tried a bit of everything and it was delicious – tandoori chicken, butter chicken, lentils, chickpeas, spinach with paneer, soup, goat, warm naan etc. There is a perfect variety. For those who think there is not enough food, well indian food doesn’t need to be served as a mandarin buffet for it to be good. Moreover, the service is always amicable. Plus, for $12.99 how could you go wrong!!! For this quality and taste, I could care less the price.
So good every time. We’ve become fans of this restaurant after several visits now. We love the calm, cozy and almost elegant environment, while the staff are impeccable in theirr attention without the cheesy overblown trained-seals one finds in modern spots. When we looked at our bill last night, we were amazed at how reasonable it was- 80$ for 4 people (no alcohol though). When you consider the caliber of the food, this is a delight. We ordered pakoras and bajhi, then shared aloo gobi, tandoori chicken, chicken korma and chana dhal. Plenty of naan as well! Well, this food is so good you can eat with your eyes closed, enjoying the flavours. We have brought a few different friends here now and all are amazed by this place, enough that they bring friends here too. Generally, we avoid chain restaurants because good owners care a lot- obvious here.
Buffet Was Not Good. We came here as we had a Groupon coupon that we wanted to redeem. We came for a lunch on Monday afternoon at 12:30 pm. When I walked in, I was kindly greeted by a man who came to the front of the restaurant. He seated me at a booth; I told him that I was waiting for another individual to come. He asked if I wanted something to drink and I told him that I would like water. He brought the water over for myself and my guest. As I was waiting for my guest, the man brought over naan bread in a basket. The naan bread was cold and stale; it had no taste to it. I was actually surprised as I thought it would have been good. When my guest arrived, we helped ourselves to the buffet. The buffet was quite cold, especially the tandoori chicken, which tasted as though it had been sitting there for quite a while. All of the other items were cold as well. The taste of the items at the buffet table were good, but not hot enough, and this didn’t sit well with us. There was quite a good selection, but it was hardly replenished. There weren’t too many people at the time that we went therefore, we figured that was why it wasn’t replenished often. The man who served us was very kind, and the place itself was very well-decorated; it had an ancient feel to it which made it interesting. We weren’t even able to use the Groupon that I had purchased since it was for the lunch buffet and it wasn’t redeemable during the lunch buffet. The food itself just didn’t cut it for us; if it was hotter and replenished more often, I probably would be back. I would recommend that you all give it a try; the price is good ($11.99 for the lunch buffet) but just know that you may not get the hottest food that you desire. I may even give it a try for the a la carte menu, but not for the lunch buffet anymore.
Top Curry. The Ambiance of India is the best Indian restaurant in the GTA that I’ve experienced. All of the dishes I’ve tried have been very authentic, full of flavour and delicious. A nice feature of the restaurant is that you can watch the chef preparing the tandoori dishes and making the naan breads inside the glass-walled tandoori cooking area.A definite thumbs up to all curry fans for authenticity, food quality, service, and atmosphere
