This is a tiny Resto so if you’re going make a Rez or prep to wait. The gnocchi is amazing and the Pizza’s are delicious. Great little neighbourhood gem in Clarkson.
The food is good. Service and attitude bad. No time to order, as staff kept returning every few minutes to place our order. When our meal was finished we were asked to leave as other people were waiting. Noisy and rushed. If you are planning to visit with friends , over a meal, skip this restaurant.
Great Little Place. I’ve been going to Casalinga regularly since they first opened up. It’s a wonderful owner-operated place with a focus on Tuscan cooking but with lots of flexibility. The owner, Mario, and the wait staff are all friendly and happy to do what they need to do to make everyone happy. One of the great things is that the chefs are willing to modify their offering to what the customer wants. So if I want a pasta dish with a plain tomato sauce or with just oil and garlic instead of a rose sauce they will happily do it for me. And they will always make a pizza the way that you want it. The place is extremely busy on Friday and Saturday nights, so you have to reserve ahead, but the rest of the week you can usually just drop in when you want. I find it a particularly good place to go at lunch because it is quieter and the service becomes very personal.I haven’t found anything on the menu that I don’t like, and those odd times when I’ve found something that isn’t quite to my liking the chef will fix it immediately. The wine list has a nice selection of wine by the glass and they make good espresso. All-in-all, it is always a satisfying experience for me and my family at Casalinga.
The service is very very bad. It is a small place so no excuses for being too busy etc. Food is reasonable but definitely not fresh pasta. For the price just simply not worth it.
Great food, but servers need training. Casalinga was recommended to me by a fellow Italian food lover. I decided to try it out with a few friends this past summer. The food was pretty amazing. Great chef! I take my hat off to you. The servers, however, are friendly but I don’t understand how such a small place can’t be organized with 3 servers on the floor. The first time we were there, we were served hard, dry, stale bread with our antipasto. Not good. We really enjoyed our pasta and veal dishes. But, they forgot all about our pizza. The second time we went, we didn’t get bread for our antipasto dish. We had to ask for it. Then we order coffee after dinner and I had to chase the server for some sugar before the coffee got cold. I don’t think I’ll be going back for a third round. If only the chef knew how good he was. He may want to look for a place that would compliment his efforts because the bad service makes people think twice about going back.
Finally !. Finally a good italian restaurant in my neighbourhood. The food and price both are really good! lots of selection on the menu, nightly specials, good choices of wine, I will be back!
Meh. Food was very average. Had the calamari and was very over cooked, pizza was under coocked. Service was not acceptable. Took so long for us to get two glasses of wine. Not going return again.
