First off i would like to thank the staff and management for the free espresso on my first visit.Great people with amazing products from all over the world, i was amazed walking in here for the first time on Friday how much food and imported products were brought in from Europe, hot table, pastries, bread, cakes, donuts, all looks fresh and made in house. i was stunned, I’ve heard great things about the cakes but never would have imagined all the food that was available at the get go. the patio is a bonus for who ever come too this place with a beautiful fountain this place is the best bakery in the GTA!
Bellissima!. I had come here on a Friday morning for a quick breakfast as I had read great reviews about this place therefore, I wanted to try it for myself. When I walked-in, I realized that this place also contained baked goods, packaged goods, fresh lunch/dinner options such as sandwiches and pasta, and also frozen goods. I was impressed to see how large this establishment was, with a variety of imported items from Italy, all of which are difficult to find in larger grocery stores. When I first walked-in, I browsed the aisles at the front of the bakery, then I made my way to the baked goods section. I was greeted by a kind woman from behind the counter, whom asked what I would like. I told her that I would like to try a Sicilian Cannoli, along with a Hot Chocolate. She then packaged the Sicilian Cannoli in a plastic container, then told Sal, who was near the espresso machine, to make me a Hot Chocolate. She then told me to go over to where Sal was in order to obtain my Hot Chocolate.I went over to where Sal was standing, then I waited for him to finish making my Hot Chocolate. I was impressed with how quick and clean the procedure to make the Hot Chocolate was. The cup that it was served in was a smaller white cup however, it was quite wide, with a lot of chocolate powder placed on the bottom. Sal also placed a small Biscotto Cookie beside the cup, which was an excellent touch. I then paid for my items, which came out to about $5.10. I gave Sal $6.00; he then gave me $1.00 in return which I thought was quite generous of him. When I went to pick-up the cup to bring it to the table, he asked if I needed any help. I told him that I was okay, then I slowly walked to the table at the side of the bakery. I was impressed with Sals manners, along with the presentation of the Hot Chocolate, which definitely looked to have more thought put into it then other establishments. When I sat down, I noticed that there was a large television playing the local news. There were only about four small tables available for dining however, it was enough for a short break. When I dug into my Sicilian Cannoli, I was in HEAVEN! I have tried many Sicilian Cannolis in my life however, this had to be the best that I had ever tasted. The Ricotta Cheese was fresh, filled to the brim in the Cannoli Shell. Also, the shell was crunchy, brushed with Icing Sugar on the outside. It was quite a large Cannoli, which was surprising considering many Cannolis are usually small, with only a small amount of Cream (yes, most places use Cream instead of Ricotta Cheese which should be used). I would have loved to try all of their desserts however, I only chose the Sicilian Cannoli for this visit. I then tried the Hot Chocolate, which was sweet however, not over-the-top sweet which makes your mouth burn with sugar. It was also hot however, not too hot to cause any discomfort. I loved having the small Biscotto Cookie on the side as I dipped it into the Hot Chocolate which tasted perfect! The Biscotto Cookie was also fresh, with it being crunchy and appealing. After I had finished, I placed the cup on the bar, then began to browse the bakery. There were many Christmas treats still available therefore, I settled on Truscotts Homemade Panettone, a box of Chocolate Biscotti, and a box of Seashell Chocolates. I then went through the line and was helped by Zita, who smiled and thanked me for coming as I paid for my order. The Homemade Panettone was $8.99, which I thought was a good price considering that most brand name panettones are much higher in price. I paid $24.50 in total for the three items mentioned above. When I walked-out of this establishment, I was beyond impressed at how delicious everything tasted, not to mention the exquisite service that I received from Sal, Zita, and the other woman behind the baked goods counter. I wish that I lived closer to this bakery as I would LOVE to try their lunch sandwiches, which looked appeasing from their photos alone. I also liked how there was Italian music playing inside of the bakery, with the feeling of being in Italy reflected through the items available and atmosphere. Will DEFINITELY return to this place if I get the chance in the future, and will HIGHLY recommend it to others! Grazie Truscott!
Best Italian Bakery!. I don’t like to go anywhere else! They make the best cakes for all occasions. Every time we have a event, I purchase their cakes and receive tons of complements. Their very best cake is the Italian Rum. I believe we have tried them all……all are quite yummy. I like to go in the morning and get fresh bread for my girls school lunches and some yummy Italian bread for dinner. You can’t go wrong if you go for breakfast, lunch or dinner! So glad they are in my neighborhood! They also support their local community, as they donate to our school every year.
Nice bakery but they should post the ingridients.. Definitely a nice bakery, however I was surprised to find out that the ingredients for cakes and the other stuff is not posted anywhere. I usually go there during my lunch break and don’t have much time to ask questions about the seasoning, nuts, lard and meat used in the products. A bakery of this standard should provide the list of ingredients to the customers for all their bakery products.I hope they do it soon.
Simply the best. When i walked in this bakery i could smell the fresh bread the pastries were amazing the customer service was great i usually spend 40 dollars when i walk in this bakery everything is amazing the bread is a perfect ten and the pastries they sell are a 10 if you come to this bakery you wont be disappointed
BEST BAKERY EVER. Customer service….most beautiful cakes this everything a bakery should be. I will drive a lone way out of my way to make this a part of my weekly shopping.
