Husband and I had the saganaki cheese it was good, we also had Greek salad – good, pork/chicken souvlaki’s they were good served with potatoes, rice – rice was bland and a little dried out not sauce on it. The rest was good. Service was very good. Will try it again.
Superior Greek cuisine in an unexpected location. Corfu Grill delivers surprisingly high quality dishes and large portions. My wife and I were on a drive from Ottawa to Toronto, and randomly picked Cobourg for a dinner break. The resto only seats 24. Looking at the menu, we decided to order the calamari appetizer, and the roast lamb, that we would split. The waitress graciously provided us with small dishes so that we could split. The calamari was lightly battered, and came undersalted (which is uncommon in restaurants, these days). The entree came a Greek salad — where we asked for the feta cheese on the side — and this was the best salad that I’ve had since I was in Crete 10 years ago. The roast lamb was huge portion — enough meat on a single plate to serve three people — with rice, and roasted potatoes that my wife raved about. For dessert, my wife had the rice pudding, which she said was the best she’s ever had. Since we live close to the Danforth in Toronto, finding a Greek restaurant with better quality than we’ve had for some years was a refreshing experience. On checking out, I spoke with a waitress, and asked if she really was from Corfu. She said that she’s from Milos, her brother-in-law is from Corfu. It’s clear to me that the cooking is authentic from Greece. This resto may become a new stop for us when we’re crossing the 401. daviding.com
Fantastic Greek Food. If you like greek food this is the place to go. I love the authentic gyros and greek salad. It has limited sitting area since its so small so you should probably get it to go.
Wonderful Greek food!. I’ve been there twice now, once with a girlfriend, second time with my husband. I have not been disappointed. Love the saganaki. Had a super delicious smoked salmon wrap. As for the person above who talked about not being accomodated with a stroller – sorry, not everywhere has to be kid-friendly. It is indeed a very small dining area. Come back another time when you can find a sitter – you won’t be disappointed.
Yummy Greek Food in Cobourg!!. Corfu Grill is a wonderful little Greek place that prides itself on serving authentic food. I love their Calamari, and Greek Salad. My hubby loves the roast lamb. They also have a nice selection of wines. The prices are very reasonable and the owners and staff are very helpful. A real Greek family making great food with simple ingredients. Yum!
Corfu grill is an awesome little Greek place, it’s food is wonderful, the service is great and the atmosphere is superbe. I would recommend it!
Would love to have tried it but…… I recently had the poor experience of trying to get a table at the Corfu Grill and not because they were overly busy. Instead my husband, myself and my 9month old son had been out shopping and walking in downtown Cobourg. We had been wanting to try the Corfu Grill as we both love Greek food and do not get into the city anymore as we have 2 children. We were so disappointed that they would not seat us with the stroller, but they also did not have any highchairs. We were told that the stroller (an average size model) would not be able to come into the dining room as their dining area is small. We were grossly disappointed and given the fact that we do have a family it is obvious that this restaurant is not for us, nor those in wheelchairs, or with children that require a highchair. It is really upsetting that the people of Cobourg are constantly being pushed out the the larger centres because the small business will not accomodate. We are very displeased and hope to bring this to the attenditon of the newspaper. To add context to the issue- there was a table of 4, and a table of 2 seated and apprx. 8 empty tables to choose from.
