For the area, I wasn’t expecting an unusual or innovative menu – just some simple grub after a day at the beach. And that’s what you get here. Food was decent – burger, fries, onion rings, chicken quesadilla. Nice spacious back patio but inside looked unkept, especially the tables at the entrance that had stacks of cutlery ready for rollups (don’t do that in such an obvious place as the entrance – that’s the first thing people see). Cleanliness/organization is lacking in other areas, too: dirty mop and supplies should be kept out of eyesight (throw up a curtain to hide that mess). Bathrooms were not replenished with toilet paper (mens and ladies).
Stopped in for a celebratory dinner. The oysters were our draw to this restaurant and they were definitely the highlight. PEI freshly shucked oysters, yum! We will be back for the oysters and frozen blended drinks (we had a Pina Colada and a peach margarita both very tasty) maybe one day after a day at the beach. the rest of the meal was ok. I ordered the curry mussels, a little over cooked and the curry broth was very salty. The mussels came with a small side of fries but no bread to dip in the broth. My companion ordered steak on a bun rare with frings (half fries, half onion rings) but it definitely came to the table well done and covered in gristle. The service although friendly was definitely lacking because it was so busy. the server seemed very overextended. Don’t be in a rush if you plan on coming here as service is slow and we found it hard at times to get the attention of our server.
Not Family Friendly. My husband and I, together with another couple brought our babies here for lunch. We walked into the restaurant with our strollers and were rudely turned away by one of the servers who told us that our strollers weren’t welcome there. We quickly offered to fold them up and store them by our table. The restaurant was empty as we went mid week. We were then told that said $500 strollers would have to stay outside of the restaurant. Would anyone leave such expensive strollers outside for the taking? We were disgusted with the entire experience and walked out. I can not believe such an establishment like this exists. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Shame on them.
