Reading about this place lead me to believe it was much better, even special. It’s not, it’s average to below. Sorry John Catucci – you don’t gotta eat here. Had the Yorkshire pudding/ roast beef. Boring and frozen, not freshly cooked. We also had the chicken schnitzel – better but just ok. Service – grouchy then hurried. I give this place a pass.
Went back to Collingwood recently and of course the first place I stopped to eat was The Iron Skillet. Everything from the turkey club to the Stuffed Yorkie is delicious. You get such a hearty portion for your buck. My FAVORITE place to eat in the whole area.
Great food, excellent service. When we visit our friends in Collingwood, it is always a pleasure to go eat at The Iron Skillet. The menu offers a good variety of food so, no complications when many people accompany us, they all find something they like On our last visit we had veal liver…..so tender, never had liver that good. Nice steak, juicy, cooked to our liking. Good variety of vegies. Excellent service, very personnalized.
Excellent food, wonderful service. Such a variety of food, no matter what your in the mood for the Iron Skillet has it. Try Mexican Monday, GREAT. Sunday morning breakfast the eggs Benedict are delicious . Staff is very helpful and pleasant. The owner comes out from cooking and great his guest that is a lost art.
Great Food, Decent Price. This restaurant was referred to us to go to by a hotel staff worker and he had said the portions were big and food super delicious. We decided to give it a try. The breakfast we had was cooked to perfection, portions were what they were depending on how many eggs you wanted excetera; but the potatoes were tasty and nothing was under or over cooked. We also tried an enchilada off their lunch menu and although the price was marginally cheaper the plate was absolutely loaded. The taste was impeccable. Cozy restaurant, nice staff, all the digs one would like for an affordable price. The owner (I think), who I assume was also the cook was really approachable; giving advice from helpful heart burn tips to beautiful areas to visit. We definitely will return.
Worst Service Ever!!. For my fiance’s 30th birthday I had booked a reservation for our party to come to this restaurant. I had confirmed this with a server over the phone. When we drove down there they did not have our reservation and actually informed us they don’t take reservations. The server was very rude and argued about the telephone conversation when she clearly stated that it was fine and she would hold our party for the time we wanted. Because of the night and time, we couldn’t find another place for over 2 hours after and my fiance’s birthday was ruined. I will never return from this place and if you plan on having a special night out in Collingwood or blue mountain, do not go here. It will disappoint you.
