One of my favorite restaurants in Toronto. Dont have much to compare in regards to what authentic Georgian food is supposed to taste like, since I’ve never been there and havent tried any other restaurants, but pretty much everything in the menu is delicious.
My friend and I went to Aragvi last Sunday for dinner. With the construction on Hwy 7 totally blocking the way to the nondescript plaza where Aragvi is located, we had a hard time finding it and almost gave up. We drove around and finally found the entrance off Bowes Rd. The decor is simple and unexciting, rather outdated. But the delicious food matched with the pleasant hospitality of the hostess made it an enjoyable meal. We had the imeritinski khachapuri, a Georgian specialty, which is freshly baked bread stuffed with a special blend of cheese – so good! The chanakhi, a veal stew with eggplant and potatoes, was flavourful and well seasoned. However, It was mostly potatoes and didn’t come with enough meat, made more noticeable compared to the portion of the minced lamb kebab, both priced at $13. The lamb kebab was the dish that stood out. It came with fried potatoes and a salad – delicious! Aragvi is a bit out of the way for me, but I will definitely go back to try other dishes if I’m in the area.
Favorite place in Toronto. This is my favorite restaurant in Toronto. i was there so many times and know all the menu. The reasons why I recommend this place are delicious food and beautiful friendly waitress. The owner of the restaurant makes feel you like at home. The only problem is location, there are many constructions across the street and it’s very difficult to get there.
In the words of ned flanders; scrumdiddlyumptious! SO good!. Was changing my tires at active green + ross next door when hunger striked! Didn’t even know the restaurant was there until the gentleman at the counter told me to try next door. Holy moly it was so good. server recommended I try kingali (dumpling thingy) and lamb chops. Was perfectly grlled.
Very bad service. Its take close to 1 hour to get the main course. The owner very rude persona I’m and my family not recommend this restaurant!!!!!!
Today me and my fianc dined at Aragvi thank god this was not for any special occasion. The owner of this restaurant is incredibly rude, at some point we just wanted to leave before our main course arrived. I will never come back and would not recommend this place to anyone.
Worst service. This is the first time ever in my life that I write a review for any restaurant. The experience was so shocking that I felt like something has to be done about it. We came to celebrate a birthday with a group of 18 people. Reservation was made in advance of course. Apetizers were served quick and tasted good. Then, we waited 1.5hours to get our food. While nobody complained about the long wait, our kids grew tired and were playing at the window. The owner came out and shouted to move the kids away. Our food eventually arrived after 2 hours of waiting. BUT!! they combined all the orders and put them together on two plates without asking!! They did say ‘because the size of group is large they would have to serve all dishes together but we couldnt have imagined it would be all combind on two plates. We have each ordered a dish for ouselves and then it was a mess finding out who ordered what and we just ended up sharing it all. To top it off meat was dry and overcooked. At the end when paying the bill, they announced that their debit machine broke and we have to pay in cash. They conveniently had an atm machine in the restaurant. i wonder how many times per day they have to use this excuse to get paid in cash. Never have we experienced such rudeness and horrible service. Never coming back and will not recommend to anyone.
