Colombia Mia is one of the best Colombian hidden secrets of the GTA. The atmosphere is great and it’s staff makes you feel right at home. The portions are large enough to be shared by two people and the flavours will send you back to remembering the weekend visits to grandma’s house. A must try for authentic Latin American Cusine.

Free Parking is around back of the building. There are a couple of Colombia restaurants in Mississauga, both in the 5&10 area, and Colombia Mia happens to be the one with the ‘nicer’ interior.I’ve been here a couple of times and service is very polite, but can be a bit slow when they’re busy. No big deal ’cause they’re really nice people, so I didn’t mind.Arepas – Contrary to what I’ve had at Arepa Cafe (Venezuelan), arepas here are flat, corn-based, thicker tortillas. Freshly made, but it is on the bland side. Still good though!Arroz con Pollo – Chicken Rice dish was very tasty! If you’ve been to Cuba, DR, Costa Rica, this dish will take you back there…in a better way. Fig Dessert – It’s not on their online menu, but it’s the last dessert listed. It sounded very odd, but I was convinced by the way the owner described it. Figs were served cold w/ dulce de leche sauce inside and pieces of fresh, slightly salty Spanish cheese on the side. It’s a combo of sweet ‘n salty for all those who like that!Unlike other restaurants, I find that the cooks at Colombia Mia don’t add additional salt, so people who dine out often may find the food on the bland side. However, I find the food, solid, home-cooking.If you’re looking for an ethnic experience, but nothing too crazy, this place is a good bet! Don’t get deterred by the location.

Colombia Mia is a definite place for all lovers of authentic Colombian food. From the starters to the coffee at desert the experience was exceptional. Even the owner spent time with us to ensure that our meal was perfect! What a fabulous lunch! I do not hesitate in recommending this restaurant.
