I am surprised that so far I haven’t reviewed this restaurant as of yet. We have eaten inside at least twice, have taken a few takeaways and even did a partial party catering. So, even before I start one can guess, we like this place. The owner (guy) is friendly, warm and provides excellent service. He will make sure you are satisfied with your order. The food competitively priced and is of fairly good quality and the perhaps the best part, the portions are on the higher side compared to others. Today for lunch, between the three of us we ordered a Paneer Chili, a Ma Po Tofu and Manchurian Vegetable Chow Mein and we got two plain Steamed Rice with the order. All this for just over $25 including taxes (tips not including). The Paneer Chili was enjoyed by the rest of the family and kept on going for seconds. The Noodles, were spiced alright and had a few vegetables and perhaps the colour seemed to red/orange for me. The taste was good. The Tofu is perfect for someone who can’t handle spices. Delicately spiced and had lots of peas and carrots. The peas for some reason had a crunch to it. In my previous visit we have noticed the same in Fried Rice and Vegetarian Manchurian as well. The steamed rice was just too much for us to finish. In fact we had left over for all the other dishes as well.
The food was horrible. We ordered manchurian balls and they weren’t properly cooked. Fried Rice were tasteless. My husband ordered shrimp that was horrible as well. You know the food sucks when they use way too much food color. I am never going back.
Ate here yesterday was surprised it was an Indian Chinese cuisine which was my first time going to… The service was good and they gave me a big jug of water so I can refill the water myself which I loved. I got pan fried chow mein with sweet and sour sauce on the side – again I’m a fan of the more Canadianized Chinese food but I knew this restaurant was diff as soon as I looked at the menu … This was my first time trying fried noodles they were not bad – and the veggies were ok- I enjoyed the mushroom a lot and the corn was good… The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was that gravy they put on top – because of the texture and distinct flavor.. Honestly the dish was not bad though I had the left overs and the sweet and sour sauce was perfect touch… Just wouldn’t have that gravy again- it was a tad heavy and overwhelming and maybe a hint of it would be better than noodles being drenched in it- then I can overpower it with my beloved sweet and sour sauce <3 ps I love that they have fortune cookies here
Originally went to the locations in Scarborough and Markham, food is the same in my opinion. Chicken Pakora is my favourite item, ideally you should eat it fresh. Portions sizes are good and tastes good as well. Food is heavy but that is expected. Also, if you pay cash you get 10% off.
Decent place for indian-styled chinese food. The owner’s family are linked with Kolkata and are very friendly, even Hindi-spoken. The food is decent with reasonable prices. Their weekday lunch buffet are good value for money.
Closest Hakka Food to India. One of the very few hakka restraunts that lives up to the Indian taste, I would recommend them to anyone who loves hakka food!
Worth driving for. We were six friends looking forward to Hakka cuisine and Federick in Mississauga did not disappoint. From sweet corn soup, chicken pakoras, chilli chicken to American chopsuey every dish was yummy. So worthwhile to drive from Toronto for this treat.
