Worst service EVER!!!!!! I Walked in behind a girl who didn’t know what she wanted therefore she was reading the menu an a guy who went to get bread at the back of the restaurant nobody looked at me or said hi so I waited patiently at the cash register until it was my turn the server then looked at everyone but me who was feeling sick and sweating from walking a long distance and all I wanted to ask was a question she then served the guy who went to the back of the store then he paid I still stood there patiently then when the guy was finished paying, the girl (server) still didn’t look at me or smile All I wanted to know was if a certain soup was available then the girl (customer) proceeds to ask if so and so is available meanwhile I’m STILL standing at the cash register still just wanting to ask a question!! I walked out stating that I guess my skin isn’t dark enough to even warrant a hello! Being half Bajan I’m truly insulted and I’ve never encountered such Rude type of ppl!!!!! never again don’t waste your time unless you are black (dark pigment ) or have been raised in a barn with no manners you will fit In!!!!! Too bad I heard the food was okay too, but I would rather have mediocre food served by nice people then to be disrespected by a fellow human being!! Shame on you!!

But today I accidentally ate fish in their calaloo. 🙁 I was so sad I specifically asked the girl what’s vegetarian and I went with the rice and veggies as per her advice (the veggies were like carrots and cabbage only I believe). Then she said she was gonna charge me for calaloo so I asked her if I can sample some of it too and she didn’t mention there’s fish in it. I just assumed it was straight up calaloo and she put it in my to go dish. All came out to like 8.00 which is a lot for a simple rice and veggie should have been like 5. Instead of charging for calaloo they should have a regular veggie meal to charge that cost less. I found like a fish bone in it which was a complete turn off. Anyways the service is ok. They always sell concert tickets here which is convenient. Sometimes I wanna try other things on the menu but don’t wanna trouble them for like 1 or 2 dumplings since they will have to go through the trouble of making them for me but they cost like 1.00 each. So sometimes I want a bunch of the veggie things I see that cost 1.00 but it seems more convenient for them to just stick with what’s on the hot table for the day. Which rarely has vegetarian items. They have stuff like dumplings, plantain on the menu which I am curious to try. This place has been around for a long time.

Went to granny’s for the first time in 2008. Recently the quality and freshness has gone down a notch. Raised their prices and reduced the quantity. Still manages to capture the authenticity in the food. Stay away from the fish, jerk chicken is the best
Jerk chicken. The jerk is the best I was a regular at 5 and 10 and now there in oakville amazing food the roti is da bomb I can’t understand the other review. Granny’s is no 1
Very Tasteless Food. Called ahead asking for fish fritters. Was informed that they will be available on Friday. Dropped into Granny’s Place on Friday around 1 p.m. Asked for fish fritters,,,told none were available or supposedly sold. I found that to be strange considering the time I had arrived…either that or they were using it as excuse maybe cause they did not make any. …no festivals either. I felt I should have stayed in Toronto and dropped into Mr. Jerk and picked some up. Having no luck with those two items, I decided to try their jerk chicken dinner. When I sampled it, I found the cole slaw tasteless….very wet and runny. Their peas and rice were fine but the jerk chicken was really bad hardly any spice on it and very bland and sedate so I was very very disappointed with the whole experience……and to add insult to injury, the dinner was not cheap.. Hell, I make better jerk chicken on my bbq in the summertime. The only bright light was the sweet girl serving the public.
