This is a real gem in Mississauga. The owner Ali is such a friendly and easy man to talk to. The food let me tell you is the best Syrian food I have ever had and the portions are very generous. Once you walk, the smell will blow you away, it is so good! I got the vegetarian plate, some Baba Ganoush and the tastiest lentil soup ever. I really enjoyed my meal and it was much food, I just could not finish it all. You have to take a visit. Be prepared to wait a bit as food is prepared fresh or call ahead and if you see Ali sitting in the back, please respect the fact that he may be in prayer. But trust me the wait is worth it and you will be going back for more!
I thought this place was fairly good. Came here after seeing an article on the TO Star as Reyan being an authentic Syrian joint!There were photos of dishes all along the front of the restaurant. Most dishes were self-explanatory, re: kebab, falafel, shawarma, etc. However, half of them, you’d have to ask the owner and he seemed more than happy to answer questions. Seemed like a nice man.My friend & I ordered a Chicken ($8) & a Lamb shawarma ($9). The owner even offered to put half of each on each plate so we can taste both. Shawarma was cut up into 4 smaller ‘wrap’ type sandwiches. Each dish came with some hummus, that white garlic sauce, & a small salad. Prices weren’t as cheap as I thought that they’d be due to location. No 2 for deals that I saw of as per the other review that I’ve read.Plate was just enough for me, but a bigger eater may think that it was on the small side. Meats were nicely marinated. Food took a bit of time, so don’t come if you’re expecting a quick takeout!I’d definitely go back to check out other things on the menu.
