2018/07/14Three of us were out of town for the day, and we decided to stop at Fionn MaCools for dinner. It is a typical Fionn MacCools, with the usual Irish decor, but it also had a lot of World Cup banners and decorations too. The restaurant was much less than half full when we got there, so we were able to snag a more comfortable booth. SWMBO ordered the No.1 Fish & Chips (1 piece). For $15.50, she felt that the portion of cod filet was a bit small. The batter was nice and crispy, cooked to a golden brown, and the flavour was pretty good. SWMBOs sister chose the Poutine. The menu calls for their fresh cut fries, loaded with Quebec cheese curds. Not so loaded, but more of a sprinkling. Still, it tasted good. I decided on the Butter Chicken Curry. Nice flavours, but a bit light on the portion size and the amount of chicken. While our server was pleasant and checked in on us several times, it did seem to take longer for our food to arrive, given that it was not that busy. Also, a common theme for our meals was that the portions seemed a bit small. So mixed results.

Good place to chill out with some drinks and food. They make amazing butter chicken with just the right amount of seasoning that goes well with the naan (bread) they serve. I would recommend this place if you want to grab a drink and relax. It’s not loud and the ambience just has a touch of class to it!

Went here with my wife and small son. It has been a while since I had eaten here. (Last time being their launch) I had forgotten how good it was. Pricey food but worth every penny. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I would defintely go again. I had the beef dip
