I have only eaten at the Waterloo location but our whole group was disappointed with the food we were served. I actually ordered the meatloaf and it was tough and flavourless. The pasta dishes were lacking in flavor. I would not spend the money (which is overpriced) to eat here again. The service was not great either.

Ok so I admit that going to Mothers last night while in the area was a total nostalgia call. I fondly remember the formerly widespread pizza and pasta chain from my childhood, and wanted to share a slice of that memory with the kids. Naturally, nothing is as good as you remember it.To be honest, other than nostalgia and the old school Mothers decor (yes there are still Tiffany style lamps over the tables, but not all of them), there really isn’t much to distinguish this place from any other of the similar pizza and pasta chains like Boston Pizza or East Side Mario’s. The service was reasonably good, the server was friendly and courteous. The food was fine, no better or worse than any chain restaurant. Prices were about what you’d expect and comparable with its competitors. One nostalgic bonus was the Pop Shoppe pops available on the menu; another nod to my childhood that I remember fondly. I still love thee grape soda.All in all, it was fine, but it won’t knock your socks off. I’m glad I went as it was a fun ride back in time, but I won’t drive out of my way just for that purpose in the future.
Service at the door was slow, this person was serving food too. (Short staff or what) A lot of waiting when sitting.. Had the Chicken Marcella (new item)It was a very tough 2oz solid piece of chicken.. Sauce was fine. Left hungry.Simple to fix this meal, Thin slice the chicken and give more. Give option of 3 lbs of mash or pasta. The Chicken Tetrazzini , one word lacking cream and taste.I would try the place again to see if it can be this bad twice. * need food runners …. more staff
Boringggggg!. Well would I go back…NoWould I recommend this place….NoOverpriced and boring
Horrible! The pizza tasted like a frozen pizza, the crust was soggy, the sauce and pepperonis were gross and there was barely any cheese. My pasta came with random spaghetti noodles (I did not order spaghetti) all through it and had a random spoonful of what appeared to be their bruschetta mix dumped on top. Oh and my drink was gross! All of that for $72! Do not go there!
Pizza hut at best. To me, not knowing the previous Mother’s Pizza, I don’t really have a reference point but in all honesty this place seemed just like a glorified pizza hut.. I was disappinted after hearing parents rant and rave about how good it was.
