Last day in Waterloo, the lunch choice is Moxie’s location in a strip mall started to turn me off, but once entering I change my mine, good design, very nice and pleasant welcome from the hostess and all of the wait staff, we were seated out side and the waitress went over the specials, ordered a round of drinks, and almost everyone ordered the Montreal Beefand Poutine (not on the menu) the wait was 10 min.for our order, the Smoke meat was not quite Montreal greatness form a deli but not so bad as Pastrami from a restaurant food suppler, the Poutine was average not a delicious as Beertown.Overall I would recommend this chain and will come back but not for the Montreal Beef or the Poutine.
Went out for a nice lunch with my girlfriend, I had the chicken enchiladas and she had the fish taco, my girlfriend had to send back the fish tacos due to the lake of flavor and it being nothing more than a deep fried fish stick on top of Caesar salad the staff was very accommodating and was able to get a new dish (chicken quesadilla) which was still very disappointing 🙁 my enchiladas Weren’t bad lacking in the filling but was still tasty and creamy. So I gave moxies a 2.5 on the food I would rate their staff a lot higher and I don’t recommend this place for anything other than stake or pasta and from the waitress it’s better to have the wait staff come up with an item because what’s on the menu might not be what your looking for…. These two foodies won’t be returning
Awful Service. Probably the worst service experience I have ever had in a restaurant.Drinks empty for over 20 minutes, our table was completely ignored.Not until we were visibly angry did the manager step in to try and save the situation at which point it was already too late.
I have been to this location a few times. My last time I actually realized how over priced the food and wine was for what we got. What we ordered we have actually ordered before but this time the portion was a lot smaller. As for the wine, when I order the house wine, which is a Cabernet, it’s the waiters responsibility to ensure which Cabernet I am ordering. I got my bill and I was charged for a $15 dollar glass of Cabernet! Luckily our waitress was prompt to rectify that. Service is great food is good and everyone is super friendly but for the amount of food and drink we got it wasn’t worth the price.
Excellent quality food and service.. Do not listen to the negative reviews in regards to the service. Every place goes through growing pains as the staff gets trained etc., so those reviews mean nothing. Also you can see the menu on-line before you go, so one should already know the different items and prices. We had excellent service the entire time we were there. the server made plenty of recommendations and was very attentive. The quality of food was stellar, and the presentations were incredible.
Bad food. Bad service.. I’ve only been here once, but my experience was not pleasant. For a vegetarian they only have one option, veggie burger… I hope you don’t get bored eating the same food as this is the only option to us veggies here. Also, servers weren’t very friendly and the service was slow. For a newer bar and grill, I expected better service.
Liked It. We never go to a newly opened restaurant until they have a chance to work out the glitches. Since they’ve been open for 6+ months, we thought we’d give it a try. Our table was located near the kitchen so the atmosphere was noisy. I don’t know what it would have been like if we were seated elsewhere. Our waitress must have been a newer hire because she made mistakes with our orders. Otherwise, the menu selection and quality was very good. We would go back again.
