The veal sandwich is a must try experience. Amazing portions of tender veal will fill you up, but you will still crave more. It’s a kw gem you have to discover.
Finally got to try their big veal sandwich! Wow! No longer missing the amazing mom n pop shop that I used to go to in downtown T.O.! The bread is super-fresh, the veal amazingly tender (and piled high!) and just the right amount of sauce, mushrooms and peppers (I got the hot loaded, rather than the sweet loaded). Will be back again – maybe get a sandwich for dinner as well next time – SO very impressed! 🙂
I don’t often give a 5 star, but on a recent visit back to Kitchener after moving out west, I picked up my wife’s and my favourite- the Love sandwich. Beautiful cooked-to-order veal simply breaded and smothered in goodness. An amazing marinara. Sauted veggies if you get it ‘sweet’ (aka ‘the sweet Love’). Or, my fav- the ‘sweet, hot Love’ with spicy peppers. Just for fun, we got a panini and the tiramisu all to go for our treat. I called, just like I had always done two years ago, and the most wonderful thing- Sean answered. Not just answered but took my order as if I hadn’t left at all. When I gave her my name, and later walked in the door for pickup, she knew me immediately and even took the time to chat, though I could see the prep list on their board in behind. The service is amazing as it had always been. The food, I dare say, is even better. It is as I always remembered, wrapped in two foil sheets because it is almost impossible to eat both halves of the Sammie. A perfect five to Nostra because it felt like coming home. Yes- it is now more expensive, but worth it. Three indulgent sandwiches and a handmade tiramisu was $40 bucks- plus a late addition helping of sauce for dipping- no charge. Keep up the fantastic work.
Better than Good. Fresh, very tasteful and large, (very large). at a very good price..This is going to be my secret little place..
Mmm. Been several times, have found it delicious and brought friends/family. Not a huuuge fan of the Caesar Salad, because it’s kind of an oilier dressing instead of creamier, but that’s only my personal preference. Sometimes I can’t stop thinking about the Spinach Dip. Or the arancini. Drool…
Quirky and delicious. We pulled up into a dark back door with no lights and no patrons in sight. When we got the nerve to go inside it was like a secret society of diners. The food was delicious and exceeded my expetations. My date and I decided to go for the classics a la spaghetti and meatballs and fettucine alfredo. I loved my spaghetti and meatballs the sauce was full of body, the mussels were tender and the homemade pasta is what made it for me! My date found the alfredo sauce to be very rich which is a good or a bad thing depending on your preference. I had the white wine mussels as an appetizer and they were fresh and well made and the bread that came with it was nice and fresh. One of my favourie parts of our meal was the dessert and of course we had to try the Cannolis which were out of this world! The owner is delightful and very welcoming and we will definately be returning.
