I went here during the Thanksgiving long weekend, and since I’m the only non-meat eater amongst my family I can’t speak for their well-known BBQ platters. I went and got the portobello frites and a side of french fries. Both were delicious especially the well seasoned fries. You can always tell it’s a good restaurant by their fries! For a place that is focused on BBQ I was glad to find a few items I could munch on. thebambieyes.com
This was our second visit to Aft for dinner. And yes, I think the smoked peach vodka lemonade is one of the most awesome cocktails anywhere. We love this BBQ place. It is small, and tonight we sat out on the rear patio. What a lovely setting for dinner, and we made note of the lovely outside bar area as well. For me, it was the wings and pint special for $16. Great wings and fabulous fries. I sure didn’t need the caesar salad on the side I ordered, but it sure was good! My husband had the ribs. Same thing. Great meal. Aft is a really terrific casual spot in Leslieville/Riverside. So glad we live so close!
Good drinks – tough meat. Cocktails were pretty tasty. Service was fine. Got the bbq platter for two and the chicken was excellent but both the ribs and brisket beef were chewy and tough. When I eat at a bbq joint I expect OMFG ribs at least. Pretty disappointed. At the end of the meal my jaw actually hurt. Sides were mediocre at best. The beans were spicy and nice, the potato salad was meh and the slaw was downright pathetic. Not sure what everyone sees in the place. Maybe the prices? Anyway, I won’t go again nor would I recommend.
Gem in a rough. Had the pulled pork sandwich & smoked ribs with the best baked smoked beans……yummy!!!
Great Spot!. Had a great time at AFT. The ribs were absolutely fantastic, and the sauces they came with were excellent. Great service, and a nice patio atmosphere. I will definitely be back.
Great food and ambiance. We’ve been here many times and are never disappointed! The mushroom frites are delicious and the dip for it amazing! We’ve had the steak with chimichurri, the wings, the ribs and all were well marinated perfectly. The trio of hot sauces offered are all fantastic and offer a good varied accompaniment to the meat or fries. Although there isn’t a great deal of dessert choices, the ones offered are excellent. The deconstructed sweet potato dessert was our favourite! This is always one of our top choices for dining in the city.
Had an unbelievably awesome experience Saturday night. Food was superb and service was excellent. Highly recommend a visit.
