Danforth Dragon. Food was mediocre in my opinion; I’ve had better and worse. Although a few items were quite tasty, nothing was out-of-this-world. The service was a slightly disappointing, and we had to wait a while before someone came to took our order. All in all, the experience wasn’t bad, but nothing too special either.
Love their ginger chicken. They have a great crispy ginger chicken which is terrific. Don’t miss it if you like spicy food.
Great Hakka Place. I have never actually stepped foot in the restaurant, but have been ordering delivery for the last couple years. Everything I have tried on the menu has been delicious. Really like the Chili Pork, Hot and Sour Soup and the Pan Fried Dumplings. Also if it matters, they always deliver within the time frame they tell you on the phone… usually faster.
Have you tried Hakka? Recommend it. The food here is really good. Try the manchurian beef or crispy chicken. Yummy.
Review in a nutshell: good food for lunch but lousiest service. I bumped into the restaurant about a fortnight ago, when on lunchtime i was walking by the danfortth avenue. I must admit the food is exquisite. Good lunch package under $8. But the service there was awful. Only one lady working. She was totally arrogant, rude and utter disregard for personal hygienge. Didnt know hw to talk with customers, no formal manners. No disrespect, but when their food is this good, i expect the owner to be more careful when choosing a waitress. On the upside, thier food is terrific and i still usually get food Takeout during lunchtime. 4/5 stars only for the food.
One of the best hakka food places in toronto, without any doubt. It offers a unique combination of chinese food with a indian flavour. Good quality food, neat place and nice service with a smile. Must have’s @ danforth dragon: crispy ginger chicken/ eggplant, butter chicken, chilli chicken, hakka noodles, pakoras, cantonese style noodles, sweet and sour chicken and spicy egg roll. Along with the above dishes, it has a variety of other flavours and unique taste to offer. Definately 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Haka Chinese – a Staple of East TO Living. I have long been a fan of this litle restaurant, sandwiched between Jones and the Square Boy burger joint on Danforth. The decor isn’t particularly spectacular but they deliver to a fairly wide area – I’ve lived further along Danforth and down by Queen and never had a problem.The staples for me have been the crispy ginger beef or chicken – this is a sweet and spicy heavenly concoction that I’ve never found the like of anywhere else. Any of the vegetable noodle/rice dishes are solid, but for the veggies out there the vegetable balls with garlic sauce are incredible. Be sure to open the lid on those as soon as they arrive since they are not as scrumptious soggy. An interesting twist to chinese (with indian influences) – highly recommended.
