The chicken gyro pitas from this place are so ridiculously good, I had to tell all 2 of my East York friends about it. So glad I have class in the area so I can have this more often. Cheap, fresh and extremely delicious. instagram.com
Great Gyro. Forget the line-ups at that other place on the Danforth. This is the place for those who like big fat pitas stuffed with zesty pork or chicken gyros and all the usual trimmings. They even add French fries, although I don’t care for them in my sandwiches because they seem to suck the juiciness out of the texture. Just give me the filling straight up, loaded with tomatoes, onions, tsatsiki (plus I like some feta) and let the mess run all over your chin and hands.Folia also offers nothing special fries, as well as salads. Those feeling adventurous might want to try the zucchini fries but I found these too coarse and chunky. I’d rather have more finely-sliced chips more well done. (I am more partial to dunking into tsatsiki instead of the spicy mayo-like dip that comes with, but that’s just me.)They also do a nice grilled chicken breast. It’s a clean little locale, bright, with a few tables. You can get beer as well as pop. Only downside is, they often run out of pork gyros.
Had double pork pita and it’s really good! The pork are well grilled and goes amazing with the fries in there! I’m going back to try ither stuff on their menu for sure! *and now they open on Sunday as well! 🙂
It’s a takeout counter with a few tables but its very nicely decorated. straight up Greek street food, gyro sandwiches, souvlaki and salads.Execution is solid and they use good quality ingredients.Price can’t be beat, you get a tasty sandwich the size of your head for 7 bucks, what’s not to like about that.
BEST GYROS IN THE CITY!!!
Ughhh…so full of gyro! The food was excellent and (according to my greek friend) authentic. The chicken is super moist and full of flavour. The portions are gigantic. We will definitely be back!
Third time there — GONE DOWNHILL. Too bad. We thought we had found a great new greek place (vs. Menzes on the Danforth). Nope. Today we ordered two gyros They were terrible.!! Chicken in my gyro was mostly skin and fat, with a layer of what only I can think of as Tzatziki And there was so much grease, there were orange pools on top of the Tzatziki. I couldn’t eat it. Pork Gyro tasted strongly of vinegar. and just tasted very odd. Restaurant was empty and smelled strongly of urinal cakes/mold. I’m disappointed a great restaurant could fall so far. Here’s my oriiginal review that I now retract: Excellent food! After we devoured the delicious greek salad which was made with the freshest tomatoes, cucumbers and red onions. served with a slab of quality feta cheese and a large helping of wonderful olives, we then shared the very large pork euro plate – yummy – which was served with a side of zucchini fries (a lovely alternative to the typical greek fries, though they have those, too). Amazing place. Very small, and limited menu — but they prepare and cook eveything perfectly. Very nice staff. I’ll definitely return again. This is as good as it gets!!!!
