Great Greek food. They have the best souvlaki. On the weekends they have rotisserie lamb and pork chunks. Everything they have is good. And offer free delivery.
Our reactions to Greek Grill were a bit mixed. My Moussaka was one of the better ones that I have had in a while. The ground beef was nicely seasoned, the bechamel had a very nice texture, thicker and firmer than most, and the portion was generous. However, SWMBO’s Pork Souvlaki was a bit overdone, as was the Orzo. Service was very good: friendly, fast, efficient.
Casual open kitchen with Greek cooks behind the hot table manning the grill. Selecting from the daily specials in the warming trays is an experience that is missing in the more upscale restaurants on the Danforth. On a Sunday lunch, we saw more Greek customers come in, than we recall on any visit to the Danforth. daviding.com
The Real Deal. There’s something about the Greek Grill that reminds me of some of the joints I’ve been to on the Greek mainland. Bustling staff, steaming pans (tepsia!) of makaronades, vegetables and meats. It’s my go-to place for my comfort food, moussaka, sided with salad. But I have also enjoyed their homemade sausage, fragrant with rosemary, spit-roasted chicken (kontosouvli) and, once, a rolled up chicken breast stuffed with vegetables and feta that I wish they had everyday. It’s all about the garlic and oregano here, as it should be.The dips pack a punch. I think the tzatziki is the gutsiest in town and the spicy cheese (tyrokafteri) is not for the faint-hearted. I often grab orders to go for family events and everybody raves. In my Greek clan, that says something. In fact, for a recent big family dinner, I had Jimmy cater it with moussaka, pastitso, the chicken on a spit, lemony potatoes, marinated octopus, salad, horta (boiled greens) and, of course, the dips. Even my most discerning cousins from out of town were impressed. My only complaints? Too often I will pop in for a late-ish dinner and find that they are sold out of everything I want. Or that they never made something like pastitso which, by the way, I have special ordered for take out several times. (It’s what we call Greek lasagna.) And sometimes I feel the wait staff always seems exceedingly busy for a small venue. So yes, the service could be better. But the guys behind the counter are great as is Allie who handles the phone.I like this place and wish that its food wasn’t so caloric! I’d be here almost every day.
Fabulous food and great service!!!gorgeous seafood!!my new local.
This place rocks! Best Greek food in the GTA hands down. I love there pork souvlaki Mmmmmmmmm 🙂
Gluten Free. I was very pleased with the friendliness of the staff. But more importantly with their knowledge regarding Gluten. I have Celiac Disease and it is often tough to find a restaurant that truely understands what gluten free means. They get it at Greek Grill and the food is delicious. Can’t wait to go back.
