A table of 5 took almost 4 hours for dinner. We hadn’t had our orders taken for an hour after arriving, had to wait another hour for our appetizers, my food wasn’t cooked, service was beyond inconsistent and lacking in every sense of the word. I have never been so disappointed by a restaurant in my life (to the point where I came home and ate).
Want authentic home made Italian cuisine in a cool restaurant with great vibe and ambiance? It’s Il Ponte. I came with a friend and we had amazing, attentive service. Jon Carlo – the owner – has a wonderful warmth that makes you feel like family. I would highly recommend coming for a date night or out with friends. A great addition to the neighbourhood.
Friday Freeze. On what seemed like one of the coldest nights of the year the warmth coming from the great experience at this new restaurant warmed us up. Going there was somewhat a last minute experience as I had not exactly planned where my wife and I would go. Anyways, we showed up at 6:30 and we were given good seats. We had a pizza and I had pasta along with a caesar salad. We both enjoyed and the owner came by to welcome us and thank us for coming. I’m sure we will go back.
I have already dined-in twice and taken-out once. This restaurant is an excellent addition to the Queen East strip. Cozy atmosphere and great food and wine. Recommendations include calamari, mushroom papardelle, bolognese and chicken parm. We will bringing all of our neighbors there to ensure Il Ponte sticks around. The staff and owner are wonderful.
The atmosphere is something to talk about, the charm and class brought to the corner of Queen and Broadview is absolutely stunning. The host JC makes you feel like your at home in our own dinning room. I look forward to tasting the creative menu. hmmm.. 🙂 Salvatore Marino
