What a lovely restaurant. We just ordered Greek salad with grilled chicken for take out. Delicious food, great people. I highly recommend. Thank you.

A very nice Greek restaurant! We had a great meal.Food: I had the mousakka, my first time, and it was a very good dish. It comes with a salad starter, which was good but quite watery. Service: A bit impersonal and it took a while to be noticed even tho there was only one other table at the time, but it wasn’t bad service.Price: More than I intended to spend, up in the $15-$20 mark, but that’s because I wanted to try this specific dish. There were cheaper options.Summary: A nice place on the Danforth! There are lots of others to try, so I wouldn’t likely go back, but it was a nice meal.

Been going here for 15 years now since I was young. Family has been going here before I was even born and the food is delicious ! The salad has the best sauce hands down, and the accompanying hot toasty garlic bread is a perfect. The servers are good. Sometimes there is a wait at times. I recommend the Greek salad and calamari !

Kalyvia is your basic everyday Greek establishment along the Danforth with your classic average fare.Of course you can have the staple Saganaki (flaming cheese) with a bit of brandy to have a nice flame happening and attention grabbing. Always tasty it disappears very quickly. I had the Avgolemono soup which was nice and hot with decent chunks of chicken. Other places tend to skim on the amount of chicken but this one was pretty good.On the recommendation of our waitress, I took the grilled calamari and was satisfied with my choice. We had a large table and the preparation took some time which also indicated that they make an effort to prepare dishes properly. Grilled calamari needs to be supervised or it can easily burn or become too chewy. Mine was okay and was accompanied by rice, lemon potatoes and roasted veggies. Lemon wedges helped enhance the flavor of the soup as well as the calamari. You could opt for the stuffed calamari with small shrimp and scallops but I was happy with my choice. It was a quiet night which is much better than coming during a busy Summer festival so we were well attended to. The dishes can be described as average but tasty with a good atmosphere. Desserts are not emphasized here but you might try some nearby gelato if you really wanted to top things off.

Bad service; totally uninterested and lack of enthusiasm. Poor quality food as we both had upset stomachs after leaving. The potatoes were dry and tasted like they’d been sitting forever and the rice had no flavour. Go elsewhere, way better choices at better prices!

Lamb souvlaki was all chewy fat no meat, rest of plates were flavorless without any spices
