You know those small hole-in-the-wall places that turn out to be great little hidden gems? This place was not one of them. Ive had a lot of mediocre but ok-tolerable Viet and Thai food before. And the prices reflected it. It’s hard to have really awful pad thai or vermicelli but this place managed to do it. The only reason I ate as much as I did (which was not even half my dish) was cuz I was starving, and it was way overpriced.I would have rather gone to Thai Express in a mall food court.

Me and a friend decided to have lunch at Little Coxwell which serves up viet-thai cuisine. There are lots of seating here for small crowds and service was decent. I ordered the green curry chicken and my friend got the rare beef pho (you can request for lemongrass broth). Both dishes were delicious and very filling. Green curry chicken was creamy and flavourful; coconut milk wasn’t too overpowering and the portion was more than enough. My friend enjoyed the lemongrass broth and often asks if we could go back here again for the broth. Probably one of the better Vietnamese restaurants I have been to and would not hesitate to go back.

Little Coxwell is this small Vietnamese restaurant located on a strip that reminds me of a backdrop for a small town. The restaurant has enough tables for a small lunch crowd but don’t expect to bring a larger party here at all. It’s a quiet little place that’s actually run by Vietnamese people, whilst serving Viet-Thai cuisine.I ordered grilled pork, chicken, and tiger shrimp atop Rice, while my companion got the Beef Pho. The odd thing I found about their pho menu was that there was only one size ($8.50), which appeared to be a large. We also ordered Fresh Chicken Rolls, which were good. The vietnamese staple also had a thai twist, when they threw in some mango and cucumber slices with the mint, lettuce, and grilled chicken. The Pho was decent enough as I was able to try a little bit. Not the best in the world though as noodles didn’t taste very fresh and there wasn’t much meat. My rice dish was superior as the grilled meats were fantastic and had been slightly charred, which I enjoy. Grilled chicken and pork chop was fantastic, while the tiger shrimp were 4 pretty small grilled shrimp.Prices are just about on par with most Vietnamese places, but not as authentic. Service was nice and place is very clean. The parking situation can be a bit tricky, but there is a small lot across the street by the Pizza Hut in case you need it. cheatdayeveryday.com

My go to for Pho in the east end of Toronto. This place is a family run business that doesn’t have a lot of frills but are quick and consistent in the food that they serve. A great place for a big bowl of pho that won’t hurt your wallet.

Terrific!!!. Best Asian cuisine place I have ever eaten at. The service is also wonderful! It’s run by a family and you can just really tell how much they care about their customers.

The food here is amazing! The broth is always served piping hot and the portions are great! I would recommend the hot and sour glass noodle (29A) — it’s honestly the best! Also the rice dishes are also filled with meat. Thanks to a great recommendation, Little Coxwell is definitely on my must-eat list!! ????
