This Place was good, Not sure what happened, food lacks serious flavor, frozen microwaved crab cakes that were cold in middle even after sending back, everything just seemed really ho hum. It is unfortunate because i used to like this place.17 Apr, 2010Damn amazing. Ended up here when another area restaurant stood us up, best thing to happen the food was OUTSTANDING and we will be back, so many unique flavors and amazing mojitos. Just try it.

In a word, terrible. The worst mojito I have had anywhere. Apparently lime is not an important ingredient. The black bean soup was just black beans that I suspect came out of the can shortly after our orders were placed. Somehow they managed to dry out my duck leg, the fattiest part of the fattiest bird. Creme brle was gross. The wait staff neglected us, dinner took 4 hours. This is the worst dining experience I’ve had in recent memory.

Came here during Winterlicious. I ordered black bean soup (soup of the day). It was too salty for my liking. Next the pollo a la Cubana. Chicken was a little dry. Sauce was ok. The rice and beans were too salty. Dessert was Creme brle. It was very good. Overall, ambiance was nice. Food was nothing special. Just ok. Overpriced. I’ve also had better mojitos. I felt ours was too watered down.

WTF. I attended Mambo Lounge and have only a few things to say. The food was alright, nothing spectacular, but not terrible. When I received the bill and was advised that between my 5 friends and I we were to pay $35 for entertainment, I was disgusted. When did they plan on telling us? The music was Spanish guitar WAY too loud for the small space and by no means worth it. I wouldn’t go back, I wouldn’t recommend it. There are so many places on the Danforth to enjoy a meal where you’re not slapped after the meal with a fee fir music that if given the option I would prefer not to hear.

Mambo Lounge Feb 12 2011. The ambiance was nice. A man was playing the guitar and singing I guess Cuban songs. However, we didn’t expect to be charged an extra $20 for the ‘live entertainment’. The cheapest wine was $40. The food was all ‘so so’. We had the Valentines day menu which included ‘fillet Mingnion’ it was chewy and so was the New York steak. The Tuna steak was too greasy. The food was way overpriced, and so were the drinks. If the prices were reasonable we might go back, but for the shocking bill we paid, we won’t. The prices do not match the quality.

Mediocre. This smallish tapas themed restaurant on the Danforth is ok at best. Food overall is ok, but selection is slightly limited.Highlights from the tapas menu for us were:Crab cakes Flank steakShrimpNothing overly exciting, we may or may not return.

Was there recently. The food was pretty good, the plantain chips were great! Tapas were reasonably priced and decently portioned. The mixed drinks were on the alchy side, and their famous mojito wasn’t all that it was cracked up to be… stick to the wine, beer and non- mixed drinks list. Inside us perfect for a cozy one on one meal, and the outside patio is perfect for a summery group get together. Will be going back again.
