Yes the food was amazing, but they really didn’t act like we were welcome with kids and did nothing to acknowledge it was our anniversary. Our family seemed like a chore for them. Guess we are not hipster enough?
Food is executed fairly well. Tuna and steak were close to being overcooked. Broccoli with anchovies is savoury and spicy. Drinks are well made. Service is slightly sloppy and curt.
Nice food, great service – server was knowledgeable and walked us thru the menu, loved the Saturday night atmosphere would definitely return. Great for couples or a girls night out
We have watched this property undergo a huge renovation over the last few years. The result is phenomenal. They have done SUCH a great job in renovating this space to retain character and intimacy. Beautiful floors, tilework and woodwork throughout! Even the basement bathrooms are pretty. we came here today for Mother’s Day Brunch, a 3-course menu for $35. This place only opened this week, so there are still a few growing pains, but not many! The service was good. It would have been nice to have met the owners. The star was the food. Fresh, creatively prepared and plated, just REALLY good! One of our party is gluten-free, a dietary restriction communicated when they asked while we made our phone reservation. This is where I think they have some room for improvement. Serving staff did not seem to know how much substitution the kitchen would handle or could allow. The only dish on the menu that my son could really have was the salmon crudo with potatoes subbed in for the toast. I guess my only comment would be that as time passes, I hope the menu will reflect the flexibility vegetarians and gluten-free people need. The kitchen needs to know how to skillfully make these accommodations. Our favourite restaurants are great at that. The desserts were a lovely assortment of pastries, and they did sub in fresh fruit and whipped cream for him, so that was great. Loved the cocktail menu. This is a large space, so keeping it full will take some work. Having said that, the food really is outstanding, and I wish them all the success in the world!
