Greek done very well, in our opinion. Very delicious, tasty food, a nice patio on the Danforth, a wide selection of food and the option to order smaller portions of appetizers and meats as opposed to one big meal. The chicken skewers were succulent, flavourful and cooked to perfection. The calamari was delicious! The pita that came with the hummus and potato/garlic spread, both of which were so good, was buttery and warm.We had our fill of the variety of different foods we tried and ended up leaving overfed 🙂 Would definitely go back anytime!
The Octapodi Skaras (grilled octopus with EVOO) came in a serving of two tentacles, beautifully grilled with red pepper and lemon wedge. It was tasty but the meat was a bit rubbery. I still prefer squid. The Ortikia (grilled quail) was bony but super tasty. The thin layer of meat absorbed the seasonings well and the skin was crispy. The quail was halved and served with tzatziki (yogurt and garlic dip). Our friends ordered lamb leg and chicken souvlaki while hubby and I shared lamb souvlaki and grilled calamari. The meals were served with elliniki salad, potatoes and rice. The salad was a hit with me–lettuce, tomatoes and olives drizzled with olive oil and topped with a generous helping of feta cheese. It was delicious! The souvlakis were beautifully grilled with just a slight char. The grilled calamari was tender and perfectly-cooked–definitely one of my favourite dishes. wanderlustingmama.blogspot.com
Two of my group of friends was so hype about this restaurantso we booked the place and check out it out. We arrived early so we got seated right away. The restaurantlook decent, looks like the place was run by the entire family. Theres only 1girl which is the hostess, the rest are guys serving. We ordered some kebobs, the meat is a bit overcooked, potatoes are awful (they taste sour for somereason) the side rise was bland. One of my friend ordered there special and shewas disappointed that the side dish was fries, instead of a salad, wasnt givena choice to ask for substitution. My other friend ordered this so calledgrilled calamari, it was awful and hes a foodie. He wasnt impressed at all. Therebread is like a brick. Dont go here if you hate noise. We are seating behind this group of women who think they arein a bar, they are so freaking LOUD!!!Our whole dinner experienced is a thumbs down! I will neverever go back to this restaurant again. I dont know why this restaurant still in business, therefood is so overrated. I dont go often in Mcdonalds but Id rather go therethan at Mezes.
Crowded, bustling restaurant with solid meat and seafood options. Respectable vegetarian entres like vegetarian moussaka also make this Greek restaurant a viable option for vegetarians. Stand out is the attentive, lightning speed service. Serviceable wine list. Disappointments were Greek salad: comprised mainly of iceberg lettuce, with a few slices of cucumber, bell pepper, and some grape tomatoes tossed in a too-sour vinaigrette; interior darkness also made menu reading difficult. Our neighbouring tables used their cell phones or LED pen-lights to scrutinise the menu. My dining partner remarked that he felt the flashing LED lights made him feel as though he was being pursued by police helicopter. We had the saganaki, calamari, lamb roast and half roasted chicken entres (both accompanied by Greek salad, roasted potatoes and rice). Seating hostess exceptional for her unflappable, friendly, efficient hospitality.
This place was really good!!!! I was very impressed by the presentation of the food and the atmosphere of the place. The service was excellent and the washrooms were clean. We ordered an appetizer which consisted of hummus and eggplant spread which tasted amazing with the garlic pita. It was the best pita I ever had in a restaurant in my life. The hummus was good too! Then I had the Greek salad which was perfect except had a little too much vinegar otherwise it was fantastic. Then I had the garlic toast which was also super yummy. My brothers soup contained chicken but I tried it anyway – avoiding the chicken piece of course – but I’m sure there was still chicken in the broth… But that was tasty as well ! I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! Worth every penny!
Holy shit! this was so good. It’s Greek food and so authentic. I had the chicken souvlaki, obviously, and tye chicken was so tender with the warmth of the pita… yum! We also ordered saganaki, which is a flamed cheese and they set it on fire right next to your table haha
What the service lacked in eye contact & friendliness was made up by speed of ordering and getting our drinks and food like clock work. Lots of menu options. Yummy dips, very garlic humus. Pita was tasty! Lamb dishes and the baked cheese that they light on fire – fun!
