I have been wanting to try Rose’s sandwiches for a long time now and finally had the chance.I got 2 large deluxe spicy sandwiches ($4 each). While I watched her making them, my mouth began to water…Rose is very lovely and engaging. She is proud of her shop and her product. The tiny storefront is packed with delicious treats and interesting vietnamese products. There is a cold display packed with buns and fresh rolls.I could not resist and got a package of 4 fresh rolls as well. The bahn mi were delicious right from the first bite. The baguette was the perfect combination of crusty (not dry and painful) and soft. The pickled vegetables inside were tangy and offered the perfect balance to the creamy mayo and sliced meats. The only complaint I had was that there could have been a few more chili peppers in mine…The fresh rolls were good as well. Fresh ingredients and tightly wrapped. It was $12 for 2 large sandwiches and 4 fresh rolls. I will definitely go back the next time I am in the neighborhood.
Not since the streets of HCMC have I found a banh mi sandwich that reminds me of my travels through Vietnam! This inexpensive sammy joint is serving up assorted subs, Viet-style, for $2.50 a pop. Obviously, I had to get two. No joke! Their spread reminded me of the street-carts I lived off for 2 weeks. Can’t wait to go back…tomorrow!
