Simon’s Wok Vegetarian Kitchen is like a diamond; a bit rough on the outside but it sparkles brilliantly with its’ cuisine. One of my most favourite things has to be Chinese food. From the taste, to the smell and even to the little takeout boxes that are in every single movie. The saddest thing though about being a vegitarian is that you might have to say goodbye to all of the Chinese restraunts you know and love. I was floored to find Simon’s Wok, immediently ordering my favourite meal of Sweet and Sour Mock Chicken. The meal was cooked well, the chicken a touch drier than I like it yet the sauce more than made up for it. The key to weeding out a thriving Chinese restraunt and a mock of the tradition is the service. Is the air stagnant or is it warm with the sense of pride in what they cook?Typically how I determine a good Chinese restraunt is whether or not you are served a pot of jasmine tea. Though odd, I’ve always felt as if it creates a sense of home and a more traditional atmosphere. Needless to say being a vegitarian in love with a culture so commonly catered to the carnivor, this restraunt was perfect for a good plate of comfort Chinese food.

Totally disappointing, we ordered three different dishes and they all looked and tasted pretty much the same, and that was bland. The waitress barely spoke, you have to write out your own order on a piece of paper. We ended up not getting what we expected in one dish, that then became our fault as we wrote it down (and she never went over it with us).Quality of ingredients was good, flavor and taste were non existent, like the service.
