We were at the Auld Spot last night for dinner and it exceeded our expectations. I’m honestly surprised this place doesn’t have a higher rating. Perhaps we got lucky and went on a really good night. I ordered the Mac and cheese and my fianc ordered the herbivore burger with fries. Both were incredible. Both meals were tasty, the burger was one of the best veggies burgers I’ve tasted (very fresh and flavorful) and loved the fries. The Mac and cheese was mild, not overly cheesy, but still very tasty. Both meals were well portioned and the overall bill for the two meals plus 2 beers and a pop was $45. Loved it and we will definitely be back.

Great selection of beer. Staff very friendly and service was fast and efficient even when it is really busy. Food is OK – middle to fair. Last time we went oysters were on special – it was a great deal $1.00 per oyster. WOW!A place we visit to have a beer and an appetizer not a full meal. Atmosphere is friendly and full of regulars.

A real gem in the neighbourhood. The Auld Spot has become a favourite local of ours and for good reason. The food is consistently satisfying and goes a notch above your standard pub food fare – old favourites like juicy burgers and deelish Mac n cheese, but for more adventurous palettes there’s always something scrumptious on the specials board (I once had a dish that could seriously compete with some of T.O.’s top restaurants). The service is prompt, unpretentious and friendly and I once had a server offer to wash my baby’s empty bottle! Great for kids and casual date nights! Definitely a favourite!

Great spot. Went to a show at Danforth Music Hall and were looking for a place to eat. Came in from out of town and decided on The Auld Spot, what a great decision. Food and service were exceptional. We were a group of eight and all love our meals, the specials were fantastic and portions were big almost too much food. Will definitely be going back, can’t say enough good things. Great job staff at The Auld Pub.

Great food and service. After talking with my gf about wanting oysters all day, she suggested this place. We went in and sat ourselves and the waiter was prompt with our menus and drink orders. We knew what we wanted and got oysters to start. The fresh grated horseradish was a yummy touch, and the size of them was adequate. They were definitely fresh. Next I had the chicken drummies. As a life long connoisseur of chicken wing restaurants, these blew my mind. They were nicely spiced and perfectly crispy (and the drumsticks are always my favourite part of any wing order). The size and meat content was excellent, as was the taste if the Buffalo spice. My gf had an order of fries and the nicest touch, was the ketchup that was straight out of the fridge COLD. Besides this, our waiter was friendly, and the service was great considering the place was nearly full.We will definitely be going back.

Fantastic. Everything was great. Excellent food, good beer list and a warm atmosphere.

Rude Chef. We went into the restaurant the other day. I asked the chef what he would recommend and he lost his mind and was extremely rude to me. Needless to say I left without ordering as I didn’t trust his cooking after the way he acted. Never going back until I find out that they have hired a chef that has enough confidence in his food that he doesn’t have to act like a five year old throwing a tantrum.
