I have no idea what these people are talking about, great restaurant, friendly staff, and great location. It is very clear when you walk in that there is no host stand and that the restaurant has a very open floor plan. I am a frequent customer and it has a right at home feeling.. Sit wherever you want and one of the very friendly servers will be right over. Also the sirloin steak is to die for.

Not impressed. Saw some good reviews so my girlfriend and I decided to check it out before a show at the Sound Academy November 25th. I ordered the broccoli and cheddar soup, she had the chicken club. The food was alright, nothing special but not bad, but the service was atrocious. It took about 15 minutes between getting drinks and even getting the opportunity to order. You would think that a restaurant near the Sound Academy would be aware of their event schedule and staff accordingly, but they didn’t seem to be. Had maybe one or two apologies from the staff but that’s it. Once we finished eating they cleared our plates and we waited .. and waited .. and waited. Our bill never came – I was tempted to just leave since they clearly didn’t want our money – but conscience won and we went to the bar and paid. I was so annoyed I just handed her money and we left, so waitress, if you read this, I didn’t mean to tip you, I just wanted to leave your poorly run establishment.
Huge let down. My partner and I traveled to Toronto for a concert. After reviewing near by restaurants and bars we decided on the keating grill. When we walked in their was no host and no indication of a place to sit so we sat at the bar. The bartender was pretty friendly. She suggested the cajun butter wings, which turned out tasting like wings rolled in black pepper and brown sugar. They were very dry and lacked flavor. Then our meals arrived. I got the salmon burger which I would consider more closely related to a fishstick. It was also very dry and tasteless. My partner ordered the chicken club, which was not only dry but had freezer burn marks. We ate our sides and didn’t even touch our mains after noticing their poor quality. Seeing our dissatisfaction, the bartender did not even suggest to remove an item from the bill or comp our beers. Its was pretty traumatic from the standpoint of myself, another in the server industry.
The food is amazing, well priced. The staff is friendly. Location is great, looking on the city skyline but at the same time feeling like your sitting on your own waterside patio. Everything on the menu is really tasty, but I highly recommend the clubhouse sandwich. Hot or cold the next day it is to die for!!!
