It was alright. I’d go to Mr. jerk. Someone in my party had ordered the jerk chicken and pepper shrimp salad because they’re on a health kick, the chicken was not jerked, it was bland, just a plain sad salad really. I had the curry goat roti, it was served in a dal puri skin (the kind with dried chick peas inside of the roti skin), it was really really mild, the goat still had bones in to my unhappy surprise. The service and music was great… People were friendly. We parked on the street because the parking lot is very small.
Went yesterday after a boat cruise for my wife’s pre-birthday celebration’s. We were a group of 10. The service was mediocre. We order jerk wings as an appetizer or I would give them a f5 out of 10. I ordered an ox tail dinner with extra coleslaw. It was horrible I actually sent it back. They had the nerve to still keep it on our bill which I had it requested to be removed which they did do. I would rate the oxtail dinner 0 out of 10. I have been eating at all of their establishments from day one and was very disappointed yesterday’s experience. If you look around at the rest of the table you know the food isn’t the greatest when everybody’s plates were more than half y’all when finished eating. Hopefully this was just a one off situation but has made me question going back there again
Was good. The jerk pork had a charcoal smell which was nice. Wasn’t impressed with rice. Not bad. Don’t know if I would go back.it was good but for a little bit of a drive better choices.
Enjoying the warm weather with the family. Checked out The Real Jerk Restaurant for the first time. My babygirl had oxtail and chicken, her dad escovitch and I the chicken curry roti. Amazing food and friendly, hospitable staff!
This place was packed!With all the seating available almost every table had customers patiently waiting for their meals. We waited almost 40 minutes to get jerk chicken/ribs and a shrimp Roti. Was it worth the wait? After all the hype we were not overly impressed. The chicken was rather dry and did not have much jerk sauce on it. The Roti flavors were good though. Would I go back? I am hoping that this was a one off. I am willing to give it another try. I would love to have the same experience as the other reviews.
This is quite possibly the best chicken I’ve had in the past 5 years. Very juicy and tender. And VERY tasty. Just the right amount of spice – it wasn’t overpowering. I ordered just a half chicken – no sides. It is overpriced for the portion size but I was amazed at the quality.
First time at this location and it’s bigger than the one that was at Queen & Broadview. There is a parking lot but it’s pretty small & limited to approx 20 spots. They still have loud reggae music playing in the restaurant. Definitely got me dancing in my seat. Our server’s name is PG (she said like Pretty Girl). Super friendly and patient. I overheard her talking to other customers and she was very pleasant super patient answering all their questions. She’s knowledgable about beer they serve too! They now take your order via tablet instead of the regular pen & paper method. The portions are a decent size and the jerk spice is on point. The coleslaw is too creamy for my liking. If you like Karaoke then you should visit on a Thursday & get a Rum Punch. I hope the next time we visit that PG is our server again
