What a glorious dive this place is… …spinach green television sets that have the resolution of an old Gameboy, questionable ‘wings’ from some form of creature (but I guess they can’t market them as ‘deep fried vaguely fleshy appendages that were once grown by some kind of thing that was probably alive once), and vaguely beerish swill that tastes like it has already been cycled through the human body once and has to be served in a glass as cold as the Canadian tundra in order to be rendered vaguely palatable.Combine these winning traits with the shattered English of the proprietors and a cast of regulars that would not be out of place stalking the men’s room of a greyhound station in 1980s Detroit and you have a recipe for being wholly memorable.It is entertaining as hell to sit in here during Taste of the Danforth and watch people stumble inside who have no idea what they’re in for.Live a little, this place is good for a laugh.
