We were in the neighborhood shopping and decided to grab supper. We were extremely impressed with the friendly atmosphere, wonderful hosts and excellent food. I will go out of my way to come back from Calgary to eat here again.
I consider this as one of the most authentic indian cuisines in not only Oakville, but also the GTA region. Despite of not tasting meat dishes since I am a vegetarian, I still happen to enjoy the vegetarian menu. One of my favorite dishes is the Dal Makhani, offered in desired levels of spiciness: very mild, mild, or spicy (also applied in other dishes). However, I did not enjoy a particular dish, which was the vegetable pakora. It tastes good, but there was a hint of blandness that hindered the uniqueness of the dish. It’s not a terrible dish, but a dish that can be improved. But let not this bother you; it is my biased opinion as it is only my view on one particular dish. I still highly recommend this restaurant because Coriander Green will bring you the real deal of what an actual Indian cuisine is like. The service is welcoming and friendly too!
Overpriced. I ordered the corriander green berths aka bangain berths everywhere else. It’s basically mushy eggplant with peas onions,peppers and garlic. This one was very garlicky. It was the best part of 25 dollars for it and some standard basmati rice that they charge you seperatly for. AlL in all it was decent but not exceptional. 25 dollars for a vegetable dish and rice is rediculous. You can pay just over 10 and get a similar or better version of this dish at several other resturaunts in the area. If you’re not a rich oakvillian and/or do not enjoy throwing your money away try somewhere else.
