The low reviews are very surprising – but then again Oakville is full of sheep. If you’re a lion make sure to stop by and converse with other real people, if not no wonder you were scared off. The menu is very basic & deep-fried but if that’s what you’re looking for than you’ll be satisfied with generous portion sizes. The atmosphere is that of a dark underground – it reminds me of a biker clubhouse. Alcohol is cheap & good quality (aside from wine) and loud mouths never last. They have two regulation sized pool tables that’re free to play once they become familiar with you and they’re more often available than not. In addition there’s ping-pong, darts, foosball & a hockey game that’s rarely used. The staff are very nice people who’re easy to get along with and same goes with the regular customers (due to mutual respect). They’re open to putting whichever sporting event you’re interested in on a TV near you (there’s quite a few) which is nice. They provide live entertainment on Wednesdays (Hip-Hop) & Thursday’s (Alternative Rock), in addition to most weekend nights. I’ve caught performances recently on both Wednesday & Thursday and was pleasantly surprised – these local artists are pretty talented. All in all while parts of my review may seem that im demoting it I truly recommend giving this bar a chance. It’s very different from other Oakville establishments and this is what will have me returning. If you enjoy underground pool halls & bars in downtown Toronto then save the trip and check out Less Than Level!- A.T.
